Man its too hard, i’ve got too many favourites! Errrrm at the moment i’ll have to choose Hawker Hurricane, Bristol Beaufighter and Bristol Blenheim Mk IV. Why? Because they are beautiful looking aircraft, and have very interesting histories. My favourites seem to change a lot all the time, i’m taking quite a liking to the lovely lines of the Tiger Moth at the moment 😀

Ah, close enough, all look the same to me! I’ll never forget the day me and my dad had a casual trip to Bruntingthorpe, it happened to be the same day WK163 was flying off to Bruntingthorpe. We were the only ones there, apart from a few volunteers there, and the pilot put on several VERY low high-speed passes just for us! Magic! Wish i had a camera back then.

Not any more, search and rescue operations been called off now that the looters are shooting at the National Guard and rescue choppers. Looks like a mass rescue operation is now turning into a bad day in Baghdad.

What a shame, still, at least the Canberra B.2 of the Air Atlantique of the classic flight is flying, at least i think it is.

Very nice, i sure am jealous of you! Are they letting you go in one of the turrets by any chance, or the bombers position? That sure would be fun, taking off in a Lanc whilst sat in a turret or bombers position!

Ah, sorry got confused and thought ARC were volunteers. I think the ‘Blenheim’ being worked on for the IWM is a Bollingbroke, hence the training colours, but the crashed Blenheim was an actual Blenheim. Seems a bit mysterious, hopefully someone will clear this up. Three Blenheims would be very nice though

Is she privately contracted then? I thought she was being rebuilt by volunteers in the same building as the ARC Lysander myself. Will be interesting to see her in training colours, will make an interesting change. Just think, in a few years time Duxford will have two Blenheims (well, Bolingbrokes) and two Lysanders! Now that i think of it, weren’t the Blenheim group also rebuilding the original Blenheim that crashed in 1988 as well?

Yep they did that with the V2’s, except used newspapers and they reported that villages/towns e.t.c. north of London were being hit, so when the Germans read it they reduced the range and the V2’s fell on (hopefully) rural and unpopulated South East England!

Just a random thought when i was lying in bed this morning, but if Duxford and other aviation museums like Cosford do make new controversial structures such as the AAM, Airspace, Cold War exhibition at Duxford e.t.c, won’t this make those aviation museums, and also the whole aviation scene more well known and bring in more visitors, money and the interest to improve the places even more?
