Whats so wrong with the AAM? I think it’s great, the Liberator restoration is superb, and you can view the aircraft well, i’ve got a nice pic of the Liberator with the metal sparkling. Another thing i like is the fact there are no barriers (at least i can’t remember any) around the aircraft, so i was able to crouch right underneath the B17 and have a good look at the belly turret. The only aircraft that i think are a shame to hang from a roof are the Avenger and B25 as sometimes i don’t notice them, but i’ve seen a few of them before at other museums.
My best mates a girl, the amount of grief i get is unbelievable, but it’s definitely worth it we’re closer than i thought it would be possible to be, it’s been tough in the past with her boyfriends but now shes got one that me and him get on great with, so it works out in the end!

Just out of interest, how accurate is the film ‘Memphis Belle’ made in the late 1980’s as portraying what it was like as a bomber pilot in a B17? I love the film, you guys sure were brave
Wow that buildings coming along great! Have they moved the twin pioneer across yet? Haha love the pic of the Valiant, i think they should keep it!
How come you were at Cosford all week, air cadet camp? Luckily when i was a cadet i got a week at Kinloss, two 8 hour missions in a Nimrod 😀
Thought so, don’t know where i got the idea of it being a Valiant, don’t think i’ve ever seen the rear of a nose section of one before! Were you there today then? If so, were all the bits there yet? Beautiful aircraft the Valiant, one of my old favourites
Vickers Valiant?
For me it wasn’t so much the event or the organisers, it was the visitors that ruined what was for me a bad weekend already. Still, todays trip to the Royal Artillery museum and the De Havilland museum soon sorted that out 😀
I have my comments on my thread with pics in the airshow section, if you haven’t seen it.
I was the guy in the white long sleeved Man Utd shirt – you may, or may not have seen me?
I’m pretty certain i did, there was only two other guys except me taking photos of the Auster as it came in, much prefer the sound of props to jets!
East Kirby is a bit like a complete wartime base, has a T2 hangar and buildings, a niec selection of old vehicles including a very nice Fordson WOT Crew Coach. Also Twinwood airfield is a bit like that, not sure if it has a hangar but the old buildings are restored (used for re-enactment groups) and an old Ford WOT fire tender is kept there. Would be nice to have a proper one like you said though…
Personally i reckon the replicas look better than the old ones with the canopy, and they still look close enough to the real thing for me to spend my few million on (if i had it!)
Very nice pics, judging by the pic of the Auster i saw you, i was the teenager taking pics on the other side of the Auster as it parked 😀
Bet that was a brown trouser moment!
Is that a bronco with some sort of rear facing engine? Welcome to the forum by the way!
