Yeah i’ll say, did you see them roll out the Texan onto the runway? There were a couple of people ‘riding’ the Texan, think one of them was Texan Tomcat himself! Some guys standing behind me started complaining about it, don’t know why
Very classy, especially the Dragonfly one, beautiful aircraft.
I think they gave up with the Bucc, i thought it was a bit silly to have the Bucc on first as she never works!
What about the tango tango cockpit? Sorry must have missed that post. I think she looks fab, luckily with her being a convertible 262 and another being built as a two seater it might be possible to see both in the air at one time!
Love the shot of the Avro Triplane with the evening sun reflecting off it’s underside… magic!
Looks like i’m coming tomorrow now, can’t wait!
Actually im quite dissapointed with the shots, i think the lens must need cleaning as it’s normally top notch quality, i’ve took amazing shots of tiny 1/76 scale model jeeps e.t.c., ah well. Cheers for your comments, first time i’ve ever posted aircraft pics on the forum
Yeah the diversity at Duxford is pretty much unique as far as i know. Personally i think some of the more modern buildings look kind of cool and make it more appealing to the casual visitor, instead of just seeing old buildings about. The design for the Airborne Assault building looks pretty cool to, and should get more visitors for Duxford, maybe some of you lot could have a go on the parachute jump simulator :p
Nice Stuka, what happened to it?
Very well put, i love Duxford for what it is, not just the aviation but as a place i can see military vehicles, submarines, torpedo boats and even an RNLI Lifeboat in one place. Theres plenty to do and see, and the place is developing all the time, i’ll never get bored of the place!
Those plans were a much better idea than the new one, although i’m still for it, i was dissapointed to find out about the new building
Ahah cheers, when i was looking it up it said the RAF didn’t get VC 10’s until 1987
Vickers didn’t have their own aircraft until the Vimy, but that didn’t enter proper RAF service until after the formation of the RAF, unless aircraft they designed like the FB5 count. I believe there was a gap between the Varsity’s being retired and the entering into service of the VC10’s as well
Just checking, there not going to do that stupid cold war jet vs bmw’s again are they? Hopefully the Hunter will have her canopy on this time, last time i went it was canopy-less as some member of public sitting in it pulled the canopy release handle, and you need to take out the ejection seat to put it back on!
Nice one, cheers!
