Do you think they’ll have the classic scene of King Kong on the empire state building with biplanes shooting at it? I hope so!

Doubt it, Vickers didn’t design aircraft until 1913. Would be interesting to know what the aircraft is, looked like a Demoiselle, or a monoplane version of the Shuttleworth collections Avro Triplane.

Came across this review of the film, does anyone know what aircraft is in the photo at the bottom of the page? Looks like the same one used in ‘Wind in the Willows’ or ‘Mr Toads Wild Ride’ as its known in the US.

Ahah, thanks very much. I thought it might have been a foreign destroyer, Dutch or something like that. Cheers, Rob

True, last time i went there the Shorts was barely noticeable, at first i thought it was a large photo of one cut out! Does have some amazing aviation exhibits, especially the early Spit and Hurricane. The Hurricane must be one of the oldest in preservation, with the shorter ‘stub’ spinner instead of the longer one i’ve seen on all flying ones.

The Science Museum example may as well be an FSM, hanging from a roof with wheels up, looks like an FSM a bit as well!
