Ok ok, i’ll give you the Agricola, but one out of all the others isn’t bad! Personally I quite like the look of the B4 and it’s an interesting design, can’t wait to see it when it’s fully restored, last I heard the fuselage was almost fully restored
Great news, was hoping someone would take her on and make her taxiaable.
Such a shame for them to ruin the line up of Lightning, P1A and the Shorts SB5 – anyone know what they’ll replace the gap with? The nightfighter Meteor is a beauty, hopefully you’ll be able to get a good view of it up close, and not just the underside
Here’s some more photos from today – got my flight, it was in G-AMMS, believed to be the most famous Auster ever. Handling was a bit unusual but still great fun, took my mind off the extreme sunburn I got yesterday! Flew from Leicester to Stoke Golding (my local airstrip, met the owner today) and back, bit unusual seeing my house from the air, looks a lot different from what I expected. Many thanks to everyone over this past weekend who’s helped me fly and kept me entertained, Richard, Bryn, Paul, Neal, Mark, and the load of other people who’s names i’ve either forgotten or didn’t know. Anyway, here’s some pics from today

My ‘ride’, Auster J5K G-AMMS

Nice Lycoming engined Auster 5 Alpha

Auster J1N G-AHCN

Mmmm Taylorcraft – there were three about today, one had spatted wheels

My place from the air, it’s pretty much bang on in the middle of the photo

A sunburnt me trying to keep the Auster nice and steady

Beagle Huskey, the last Auster to serve in the military
Certainly a great weekend, hopefully won’t be the last time i’m in an Auster as well
Here’s XN441 at Leicester today, hope it’s alright, only managed to get the one pic
Some of my photos in the airshows forum – going back up there tomorrow, if anyone wants to meet up just pm me saying which Auster you’re in and i’ll try and find you
I’d put a fiver on it being Gloster Meteor F.8 VZ467, formerly known as ‘Winston’ here in the UK
Cheers guys, just got back from a pretty good night out, plenty of free booze! Nothing aviation related, but £550 isn’t bad! That’ll be going on driving lessons, so hopefully before too long i’ll be able to lend a hand at MAM, no idea when though
Yep i’ll be there tomorrow Neal, sent you an e-mail. I’ll be there from 11am tomorrow wandering about, if anyone sees a short ginger haired lad chances are it’ll be me, be good to meet some people off here finally. Nice AOP9 too, Auster must be the only manufacturer who has managed to make all of their products good looking!
Cheers Martin, can’t thank you enough for helping to arrange it, fingers crossed now for some good weather!
Grrr, the forum went offline last night, doesn’t look like it will be back so had to start a new one at http://brunty.forumsplace.com/ , sorry for any inconvenience
Saw dH Jackaroo G-AOIR after take off when I was in Atherstone today, and what I think are Lockheed Electra’s from Air Atlantique flying over my place towards East Midlands Airport (that sort of direction anyway)
Set up a new site for Bruntingthorpe, pretty basic but hopefully it’ll mean more people find out about the place and visit. The address is http://brunty.bravehost.com and the address for the forum is http://brunty.17.forumer.com
Looks great, whereabouts is the hangar, near the rest of the planes at Brunty? Looking forward to seeing the Beech and Harvard at the LPG day
I’d be interested in any photos of the instrument panel for the Gloster F.9/40 or the Meteor F.1 (Have a feeling it might be the same as the F.3’s but not sure)
