My first, and so far only, airshow was the last one organised by Air Atlantique at Coventry, in 2002. Was developing into an excellent day, great displays by the Blenheim, Canberra, Breitling Fighters and Sea Vixen until tragedy struck when the Spirit of St Louis replica crashed, right in front of my eyes. Apart from that it was a good day with perfect weather, I hope one day Air Atlantique do another show.

Do they still do the airfield tours in the Bedford OX and Queen Mary trailer? Was interested in doing one but didn’t have the time, plus I didn’t see them advertised anywhere.

Cheers for your help guys, i’ve also found it was an A20C, the sort with the glazed nose, known as the Boston III in RAF service. If anyone knows anything else please let me know, hopefully one day we’ll see a complete Boston in the UK.

Very nice photos, cheers for sharing them. Interesting car in the glass case type thing outside, did it say what sort of car it was?

It does appear slightly clouded on my webshots album, though it could have been caused by my camera.

The Hampden is being worked on by two people, there was one person dedicated to it but he sadly died, it’s his picture which is propped up by the fuselage. As far as I know the ultimate goal is to restore the forward fuselage, would be nice to try and get a whole one (ie with the rear tail and wings from the Hunt brothers example) but, like everything, it needs manpower and money, both sadly lacking. Doesn’t hurt to drop a couple of quid into the donation box everytime you go though

Anyone have any clue as to what colour scheme what she’ll be wearing? Not that i’m particularly bothered, Red Bull could paint her bright orange and i’d still be happy to see one in the air

Did they gaffer tape you to the side for the airborne Nimrod shot??????????

The ‘bubble’ windows really are much more effective than they look (to me anyway), will never forget looking down out of one onto HMS Trafalger, half submerged

I’d imagine so, they are currently researching the history of the aircraft. I really hope someone takes this project on, i’d love to see a complete Boston in the UK and would be a great exhibit

Not sure what’s missing, i’ll e-mail them back and ask. Steve Milnthorpe who has the ex-Douglas Boston/Havoc UK Preservation Trust Havoc has, as well as the forward fuselage which he is keeping, the bit that was on ebay, an engine (think that was sold), part or all of a wing and a few other bits I think which he was selling so would no doubt be possible to build a complete Boston/Havoc, provided you had the money

As well as Gypsies, around here at least it’s become a nickname for chav’s, the sports gear clad teenagers (and some older, but not many) that cause anti-social behaviour, and basically waste away their lives walking around drinking cheap alcohol and making a nuisance of themselves

Nice pics, what’s the high-winged aircraft with what appear to be contra-rotating props behind the 707B?
