Probably not surprisingly, I went to Newark the following day on the way home (along with Tollerton and East Mids). Got photo’s if anyone is interested.

    Yes please!

Looks like another for the BNP then ? 🙂

I love the way this thread had moved from the origins and ethics behind selling a former RAF station sign on Ebay, to ridding the country of “pikeys”. 😉

Ah but you see, back in the good ole days when the Armed Forces were something to be proud of and stations such as Tangmere were still open, we had national service and pikeys would get a good seeing too and learn their ways 😉

Got mugged by several pikeys a couple of months back, only had my phone nicked which was soon barred so it was useless to them and I got a new, better phone for free (cheers guys, it needed replacing!) – police got them all, but like Taifun there wasn’t enough evidence to prove it – have to agree with Taifun’s idea of an election pledge, maybe I should be an MP

Nice pics, spent a week at Kinloss myself on an ATC easter camp (guessing that’s why you were there). Were you forced to sleep in the VGS building near a couple of HAS shelters as well?

For the only flyable A-20 (CURRENTLY) in the world? nah – thats CHEAP mate!

    TT

What, you mean there’s others under restoration to fly? Would be worth a trip to the US just to see one in the air if you ask me

If it was an Avro Ashton, it’d no doubt be the same one that is now outside at Newark Air Museum

As far as I know they’ll be trying their hardest to get it flying for 2007 from what i’ve gathered fromthe forum and Blenheim Society journals. Even if it’s just static next year it sure will be good to finally see a static Blenheim Mk I after all these years. If your interested in helping the Blenheim get back in the air or just want regular updates, I can give you the details for the Blenheim Society, it’s only £15 a year for Adult membership

TMN – does look like it’s a great experience i’ll have to try it sometime, was wondering if there was any forumites around that day!

Nice pics Kev, the Dragon Rapide has to be the best looking de Havilland product ever made. I’m tempted to go for one of the Delta Aviation flights over Oxford in a Dragon Rapide (I think it’s G-AGTM) for my 18th

Wow that’s a beautiful model, tempting to buy the game just to fly the Blenheim! Can’t help you really with your project, but wasn’t it more usual for RAF aircraft squadron codes to start with the squadron codes first, and then the identification letter after the roundel, for example RF (roundel) D? Could have been different for the Pacific theatre though

Edit – oops, sorry, just been looking through photos of the Blenheim IV and they all have the squadron codes after the roundel, anyone know why this is? Haven’t seen it on any other aircraft

Glad to hear your better Tim – the Comet and Britannia are staying at Cosford, all others are going to East Lothian, the Viscount in it’s entirety and the VC10, Trident 1 and 707 as either cockpit sections or forward fuselages, sadly
