Judging by the fact that the other aircraft owned by AMPAA, does this mean there’s a possibility of two Blenheims being airworthy at the same time? That would be an awesome sight, the Duxford Blenheim I and the French Blenheim IV at the same time
According to ‘War Prizes’, VX154 was not captured until 1945 (in northern Germany) and therefore not the Storch in which Broadhurst flew Churchill round the Normandy strips (how dangerous was that!).
Not as dangerous as when he was looking down the barrel of one of the machine guns on a Gloster Gladiator just as his wife, sitting in the cockpit at the time, was about to press the firing button!
Don’t worry – the Argosy is, according to what I was told, going into Hangar 1 after the Cold War exhibition has opened
Your not the only one Lancman, I need some Bristol therapy!
What, so they’re only keeping the cockpit of the Trident and the forward fuselage of the 707? What a shame it came to this 🙁
Anyone e-mailed the museum asking about it? I e-mailed them a week or two back asking i) about the Bolingbroke and ii) what they were going to do to house the other aircraft, for ii) all I got was they are currently drawing up a long term development plan, which is about as vague as you can get
Nice pics – what’s the circle of concrete north of the Lightning hangar?
Must say they look very nice from the website, just wish I had the cash at the minute to buy a few! Are there any plans to make a Blenheim one, perhaps with old footage of the Mk IV and then some of the Mk I when she’s airworthy?
Aq nuts, i’ve fell for it hook, line and sinker! First time i’ve fooled by an April Fools joke in years 😮
Excellent – have to love the music and the narrative speaking – makes it sound like a car advert from that era!
Where is RB now? According to G-info she’s de-registered, but owned by the ‘G-ARJB Flying Group’
Strange, I read or heard somewhere that the Viscount was going to be moved into one of the hangars (hangar 1 I think) after the cold war exhibition was done. Have you heard anything about the other liners?
An old thread, but I thought it would probably better to bump this one up than start a new one – found an interesting webpage about the Finnish Blenheim IV, I don’t understand a word of Finnish (Flemish?) but it looks like they’re building a proper building to put it on display, looks rather interesting

There’s a couple of pages which pretty much sum it all up – the timing is perfect for me to get a birthday flight if I can persuade the parents
Very nice, especially the one of the Cessna Bobcat at the Canadian Warplane Heritage museum – isn’t she now airworthy?
