Either that or the theory that the world leaders are, in fact, lizards. If it will change the course of this disussion, why not start another thread about it?
Looks magnificent, it’s the first time i’ve ever found a griffon engined, bubble canopied Supermarine product attractive, can’t wait to see her in the air
SSS-666, can you please tell us what the biggest hoax of the century is? Dying to know, only thing I can think of is that you’ve been persuaded by David Irving’s books

Roald Dahl was a Hurricane pilot, he wrote a book about it (read it a looong time ago, it was meant for kids)
You and me both Albert – the Blenheim population in the UK is becoming very interesting – the East Fortune one is nearly done (not sure how much Concorde has slowed the restoration down, or where they’ll put it and in what markings), the Bristol Aero Collection are bringing one over from the USA, there’s another at IWM Duxford (the IWM’s), and before too long an airworthy Mk I! Not to forget the lovely one at Hendon already
That’s the Mk I nose on the right of the Mk IV nose, with a nice model of the Blenheim V (Bisley) in the foreground, all three Blenheim mk’s in one pic!
Mmm nice, Blenheim and Beaufighter! Which mark Blenheim/Beau?
2002 (I think), RAF Syerstone in a Grob Vigilant motor glider, loved every second of it although it felt very odd to be in the air and still does now, but I love every second of it
Yeah I heard that as well, either way I can’t wait to see a Blenheim flying again, hopefully when the IWM finishes their Bolly they’ll wheel them both out side by side – should be an interesting comparison, a CATP yellow Blenheim IV next to a Blenheim I

Ever ran 100 yards in a 8ft dingy?

So you mean Aircrew CAN’T walk on water ….. 😉
Only the officers 😉
Mmmm Blenheim’s – best looking aircraft ever is the Blenheim Mk IV in my eyes. Shame they don’t restore the Mk IV and put it and the Mk I noses on display, theres a fair few Bolingbrokes in Canada that i’m sure they could ship over and put a Mk I nose on.
There is no complete Mk I anywhere in the world – yet! As far as I know it won’t need a bomb bay although it may be rebuilt with one in case they decide to remove the gunpack to make it look like a bomber perhaps.
Looking on Filton Flyers excellent online Bristol survivors survey, the only complete Blenheim in the world is in Finland, a Mk IV. Heres a list for the survey website http://www.filton.flyer.co.uk/ (go on ‘Bristol Aero’ then ‘Worldwide Survey’.
Paul F is right, ever since the Blenheim Society acquired the nose in 1990 they’ve wanted to attach it to the Bolingbroke fuselage. Personally I prefer the Blenheim Mk IV/Bolingbroke (same thing, the Mk IV was going to be known as the Bolingbroke at first) but it’ll be great to see a Mk I, there’s a Canadian Blenheim IV being restored to airworthiness somewhere as well.
I heard it was based on a pre-war advert for beer with the slogan ‘Gone for a Burton’ – for example if a group of pilots used it, it was kind of avoiding the subject of death, with ‘gone for a burton’ meaning they’d gone into the drink (sea).
Not sure when it was decided, however it’s been a long term aim of the Blenheim Society to have a Mk I. Won’t involve that much conversion i’d have thought, the only difference between the I and IV is the nose (as far as I know), and they join at the same place, however the internal fittings are completely different with electrics, hydraulics etc all going to different places which is why it won’t be possible to change the Mk I into a Mk IV and back again whenever the team wants, as rumoured a while ago
