Mmmm nice – too bad she’s off to foreign shores before too long though. Any idea on whats next for the Hawker Restorations team?
”You silly sod, I told you to make sure you had the keys with you before closing the hatch!” (actually happened to a mate who had to smash the sunroof on his car to get them back!)
Dunno about id’s, but that’s the only time i’ve seen a woman so happy to see a plane she’s done a little dance :p
Really?! Wow and I thought my dreams were coming true with an Alan Partridge Movie. I bet it won’t have the original cast though, won’t be the same without em! (And probably some pimped up yellow Hummer replacing the black van)
Best A Team moment was when they came across a rusty old Sherman tank on some private island, while they were driving around in a Deuce and a half. From what I remember, they simply put the batteries from the Deuce 1/2 into the Sherman, tinkered it about and off it went! Funnily enough the ammunition and firing systems worked fine as well
Listing here of Budgie the helicopter characters http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budgie_the_Little_Helicopter
The seaplane was called ‘Wally’ so I think that’s pretty obviously a Walrus. Lionel is a Sea King or S61, Chuck the double helicopter was a Chinook, think it’s pretty obvious what Concord the jet plane was, but for originality you can’t beat Backhoe the backhoe!
More recently, does anyone remember the 1990’s ‘Budgie the little helicopter’? My brother used to watch it and sometimes I would, it was a cartoon and I seem to remember one of the characters later on in the series being a flying boat, possibly a Walrus? I think he was old and had a moustache
Yeah I found on another forum that it is Atlas, among others they do a 1/144 Stirling and Hudson both in RAF Markings, anyone know of where I can buy them from?
Cheers Roobarb – was looking over this thread earlier actually. Not sure if it’s been mentioned before, but although the Mk I and IV noses are interchangeable in that they fix at the same point, the electrical etc stuff attaches at different places so the rumour that the noses could be swapped around isn’t true. Will have to try and get that mag if I get down town tomorrow. Hoping to join the Blenheim Society as well.
Not sure, from what I know he has a workshop at the back of his house. I’ll ask him on Thursday.
Would this be P2902 G-ROBT, the Mk I? There’s a thread about her here from not too long ago http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=37059&highlight=p2902 , do hope it is her
Wonder how much it goes for, if I had the cash i’d make him an offer and fix it up in my garage and give it to Midland Air Museum or something
When I spoke to him he just said about a year ago it was put into storage and wasn’t really viewable, and would eventually be worked on, so this is quite a surprise! If I get the chance i’ll ring him tomorrow and see if he knows anything about it, he said to me that there was no hardware at his place so my guess is that the Boston was moved somewhere in the area, certainly looks like it, could be to raise funds for restoring the other bits of Boston, i’ll let you all know what I find out.

Cheers markansell, i’m currently still tinkering about with brightening the pictures up etc. Nice pics Alex, where was the Gladiator wreck? Don’t remember seeing that
Cheers for the reply – looks a bit like a Brisfit or Jenny with the mod, quite attractive actually!
