This is great news! Thanks a lot Alpha. Who operates this Buchon? EADS?

It’s a pleasure. 🙂 If TFL are going to attend the event at Oostmalle next sunday; I will add some more pics of this final appearence.

Last week there was some more bad news for TFL. They are based at EBKT in Belgium. This airport has 2 runways. One concrete and one grass strip. Last week it was decided to close the grass runway. It is forbidden to use it now. This will cause more restrictions to operate the biplanes (which are built to operate from grass). So this is another set back. 🙁
Next week, TFL is going to make its last appearence at Oostmalle in Belgium on september 5th. This is not yet fully confermed. It could be the last time that you can see the team. There are some doubts if the team will be back next year. But the planes will be maintained in airworthy condition and flown occasionaly.
To close for now 2 pics of other planes of TFL:
1. Bucker Bu133 during march 2004. It is reported to be sold to Glenn Lacey, but still rests at EBKT.
2. A rare recent pic, made uppon arrival at EBKT in february 2004 of Hawker Fury MK1 G-BKBB. It had just made its ferryflight from Old Warden. This was its only flight in 3 years. It is now stored (in full airworthy condition) at EBKT. With thanks to J. Vanhulle.

I will add some more pics to this tread. Next to come are pics os the Wings and wheels event which TFL attended with all its remaining planes. The event took place at Ursel (Belgium) on 7 and 8 august.
This was also the last appearence of the Viima for this year. A Technical problem has grounded the aircraft for the rest of the season.

I think some of the boys here on the forum may have seen it before. But not me! A historical formation! 😎
Thanks for posting it.

Yes, Hopefully there are enough remains to add it to the list of surviving aicrafts (and just no bits and pieces). But if it is true, any recovery/discovery concerning such a rare aircraft is always good news! 🙂

Yooha! That is a nice sheme. 😎 Much better than the dark one it had before. It will fit perfectly with RNHF spitfire! I can’t wait to see her!
Also take a look at the PBY’s homepage for more new pics:

They are nice stormbird. That gladiator (G-AMRK, now with the shuttleworth) looks lovely in its metalic sheme.
Any pics of Belgian Airforce Gladiators?

On Old Rhinebecks website is mentioned that it is in the queue for a restoration to airworthy status.

This weekend it is going to attend the show at Lelystad. If there isn’t a pic of it on this board by that time, several members will take one there. So a pic is definitely on the way.
Good to see she is getting ready in time! 🙂
Greets,

A friend of me got the same problem here in Belgium. He got a fine because he would have reached a speed of 225 km/h on the belgian highway. He could also prove that his car was only able to reach a maximum speed of 180km/h. The charges where also droped. Stupid mistakes.

I hope you get bored more often. :p

Not a bad hanger really, five radial engine aeroplanes and two Pitts!
Not bad at all. I am excited to see when you will complete those engine tests. Keep us posted.

Droooool …. 😮 😉

And the wings that will be attached to faith are IIRC original gloster wings. (altough from another gladiator) But they are wartime pieces so I don’t see any problem to use them to ‘rebuild’ faith.
