I can’t do facebook at work (now) but will send you the links later. There’s a general ‘aircraft parts for sale’, a ‘cockpits and instrument panels’ and a turrets forum which have all had interesting posts. I thought this forum was a time hole. Facebook is a gaping chasm.
Nice work, Tony! Certainly a challenge and it now looks the part. As far as identification and information goes, this forum is an astonishing resource. Googling a recent acquisition, it came straight back here as a Fiat G91. A facebook group also gave a possible id to a mystery Bell cyclic posted a while back. Possibly from a Kiowa with a TAT turret dangling underneath. Not a mod I’d ever heard of.
Well said, Rob!
Is that a Vigilante grip peeking out on the right?
An astonishing collection! Thanks for sharing.
I started typing then saw the captions! I think you have it, including the Javelin which had me fooled again. Difficult to tell what’s a designed omission or simply dissolved away. Would make an interesting ‘relic’ display!
Well looks a useful trip, Tony. Was the Venom stick shamefully cheap? A Hurricane bulb holder too?
That’s a pity, very fond memories of Popham, apart from the cold. Thanks for the report. Hopefully the (mostly indoor) Old Sarum in a fortnight will be a better day out for all concerned.
Much enjoyed your military weekend last Sunday. The pilot’s block was looking good.
There’s also an aero jumble at Old Sarum the following weekend on the 13th May. Busy times!
Possibly beyond Deox C, Tony, although it will get a bath at some point. It was crashed, buried, left 30 years then dug up again. Not a great storage method for steel and aluminium.
Here’s a pressed steel version from a MkIX.
Looking good Gabby, a challenging panel to fill but worth the effort with the history.
Try this Swifter, you would have quite a combined exhibit there. Eye watering price though. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192128186777?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Excellent photos and possibly my favourite thread title of all time.
