Wrong link? A very attractive bomb fin.
Hello Tim, I think we met over a hedge at that one! Good luck with the display, if you need anything laser cut for it do get in touch. I’ll try and scan a better version for you.
Thanks fouga, that’s excellent. The grip has ‘fouga’ stamped which helped identify it. It’s a lovely mechanism so I will be keeping it for now.
I missed your post, sorry GOKONE. I’ll give your method of stopping the white a go on a discrete area. The F89 radar controller came from Shoreham a couple of years ago, it could be the same one. On the Junkers yoke front, this is ‘generating interest’ on that interweb: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121427911739?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Finally a new Fouga Magister column. Not sure if it’s front or back seat? Definitely Fouga as it’s stamped into the front.
I’ve read that another issue was the more pressing need for turrets on B29s. Most of the early models which passed through the UK and into Europe had the turrets omitted. They looked very smart in olive and grey with invasion stripes.
Excellent spot FLY.BUY, that is a rare one. Did you get in contact with the owner?
Here’s another helicopter panel, a bit more manageable sized than yours, Smirky. AH-1G Huey Cobra front seat. Going to be a challenge to fill though. The percent RPM gauges and clamps have migrated over from the Vulcan panel, being replaced with original large gauges. A more accurate VHF box is in the post but lots more to get.
Cheers Mike, This one seems a bit squashed but doesn’t look to have hit anything under power. there’s another blade and boss as a memorial at the island museum, B24 I think.
An impressive selection!
Boo Hisss.
Their website shows they are more professional than the video suggests. Doesn’t make comfortable viewing though.
Interesting discussions, glad to be back to a real keyboard! Your Lightning display is a work of art John, even down to the sleeve on the brake cable hole. How did you get the cable connector through the hole? It looks a squeeze. To confuse the Guardian grip debate, my C1 autopilot has a a B6 grip with the two sets of adjusters and no depression.
The NAF grips often attributed to Corsairs probably aren’t. Corsair grips have a VS prefixed part number and were ground slightly shorter at the base, shown here
http://www.warbirdsite.com/museumcolumns.html and on KD431 at Yeovilton. They were also fitted to lots of helicopters including Bell 47s and Jet Rangers, as were B7As. The photo also shows a variation on the B8 theme (not all the same) for a Jetranger with a 206 part number.
The holiday was low on aviation but a trip to the excellent museum at Montrose found a couple of things. First an odd un machined ‘Meteor’ grip and second a Halifax yoke. The first grip looked a bit like an apprentice/mock up piece but there were two of them.
I’m currently away from everything at the moment but a work colleague’s late father was a Lanc ventral gunner(.5). I posted an excerpt from hislog book a few years ago.
Also on holiday Wulfie. Hope it goes well, really enjoyed the last ones.
“I have a c0ck in my hand and it is exactly right”
Looks correct though. I like planes and enjoy the forum. But not that much.
