Cheers Mike, makes perfect sense when explained. I’ve got a guide book from a visit a few years ago, although might not have noticed it due to the amazing Mk1 Spit display.

A nice grip but not A10, the connector is riveted to to column on an A10 stick. Enjoying these German links, Rob. Not somewhere I usually look!

I met an ex colleague of mine at a teachers training day a while back. He described in nonchalant tones, “I was thinking about you a month ago, there was the nose of an aeroplane at the tip. It had the holes the propeller comes through and German writing on it. I didn’t have your number though…’
    Oh the chances missed.

It looks like a Firefly grip. Nice find! If it’s looking for a new home I’d be very interested!

That’s an attractive yoke FLY.BUY, it looks identical to a Constellation yoke? I see what you mean about the lineage, Swifter. Did all the Adams-Rite yokes have the bottom bar too? Looks a good place to rest ones thumbs whilst leaning an elbow out of the cockpit. I didn’t know the name Adams-Rite, another to add to the list of Dunlop, Guardian, Mason etc. This grip is by the entirely vanished Maybad Electric, similar to Skyraider and Skyhawk. I have no idea what it’s from although it looks weapons rather than flight control.
I like your collection Puuka, always nice to have an instrument panel to pop a grip in front of!

A nice pair of (Packard) Merlin bits: 151213336765. Possibly to reappear with Rolls Royce applied in emulsion paint and a Battle of Britain History!

Thanks Andy, very interesting. There was a similar event in Aberystwyth about five tears ago with MoD/JCCC Wessex Archaeology and others in attendance. At the time I felt a slight sense of foreboding for ‘digging’ but I think the disparate parties do need to pull together. Would be very interested in attending.

Andover as night club at Glastonbury 2008. A bit of it fell off into my hand:rolleyes: Over the years it was further stripped and repainted. There was dancing inside.

That’s much improved Tony. ‘As found’ doesn’t really work for some things! I don’t suppose you have any spare brake levers, very much in the market. How is work progressing on your CV880 Nick? Another type I had to look up. It’s a pleasing shape and always good to have a label. Finding others to compare serial numbers with might be a challenge though.
Thanks for the links robdd1, very nice but very pricey! The first vendor also has a Noratlas yoke and column. On the show and tell theme here’s a stand for an F15A grip and one throttle. Old science lab benches being usefully recycled for the purpose. There seem to be quite a few starboard F15 throttle grips about but no ports. Would like one!

Cheers Anon, looked into it already! Check the second link, all the crew walked away safely. The damage is due to the glacier. You would though, wouldn’t you…

Now that really is a challenge Tony! Mag alloy doesn’t like being buried, and some of it seems to have disappeared completely. I like the extra button.
here’s a recent effort on the Blenheim yoke. Version 2 will have holes that actually match up…
