Thanks Pete, interested to see what comes out!
Ah! Llandow. I think they were thrown out the cockpits before the aluminium smelting. Would like to find a whole one…
Thanks GYD. This is about as good as it gets round here. Picked up off the surface a couple of miles from your old stamping ground. With the weather set fine for the weekend, might have another look there. P51 by the way.
Very Nice GOKONE, the Mosquito/Oxford lineage is there. On a similar note found this nice write up whilst avoiding that which should be done:

Hello Rob, not much help but the dimming knob is a warning light, from the panel and probably other positions. The shiny black piece is probably cooling shroud from around the cylinders in the photo. Everything else a mystery!
Thanks Nick. Gruel without even bread to go in it. Brass buttons do go for stupid money, even the repro ones which are almost all terrible. I’m also after just a front for my Blenheim yoke, although that’s pneumatic rather than Defiant electric. The yoke vendor reckoned he had brake levers so I’m hopeful. It would be my first venture into metal bashing to make a pair of mounts.
I’m pretty sure this is a Beaufort yoke. All the images I can google, contemporary and of restored examples show a pneumatic gun button on the left. Actual books back this up. It’s been restored at some point with new steel work inside and is supposed to have come from a dump in Oz.
I think you have a Beaufighter column MicLittle. Is there a slot at the back of your button hole for brass pipes?
The brass button was swapped for separately. Despite the splendid detail of your publication, AM, how does one open it up to install it? It suffered a bit of a bump and is currently undergoing WD40 and penetrating oil immersions to loosen it before gentle ‘mechanical’ means.
It was a good day out at a great museum. As an aerojumble though not a huge success with no initial rush petering out into nobody at all. It was largely sellers buying off each other! Lots of chat, made some new friends and found one interesting item for the collection. Thanks FLY.BUY, PM sent!
Big lumps of Spitfire? Griffons a bit late for me: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121173039894?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
A lovely idea Nick, But need to eat etc.
It was a good day out last time, stalls and museum both. Weather is supposed to be terrible on Sunday so an ideal excuse for a lie in!
Looking forward to it Tony, despite a shamefully early start!
No idea on location but it looks like 110 rear canopy. Still Messerschmitt!
Here’s the message and response: “Hello there, your armour is from a Hurricane, not a Spitfire.”
“NO it is not it is from a spitfire 100% no questions at all thank very much”
I stand corrected.
