Thanks for the feedback:). Binbrook, the DI is a 1a, dated 43 and last serviced in ’57. Fly.Buy, thanks for the tip but disappointingly nothing like a serial. The horizon is dated 42, early for that instrument? Back to the original question, is it T7, F something or applicable to several?
Thanks Bruce and Mark. The T7 pilot’s notes (pdf found online) don’t say what colour the warning lamp should be so any would be suitable, and only the front screw on bit. The laser cutter is poised if you need anything doing Mark! I managed to resist deactivated temptation at Stoneleigh, by dint of everything being hellish expensive.
Thanks Bruce, a more than punctual reply! Inevitably, would you have the UC and DI indicators? I’m also curious about the UC warning light, the back is attached but whatever screws into the front is missing. Cheers.
Hello Graham, will bring some local broken stuff. Good excuse to make a display!
There is some useful information in the Avia files. The loss of second prototype L6845 is well described, including the results of the rolls Royce strip down of the engine. As a messy, but still fatal, forced landing there is nothing left at the crash site. The report on P7003 gives no more information on location than listed here. Highwood Heath is an active Army training area so a challenge to search. One of the Norfolk loss reports does include several copies of the same large format cockpit photo, the cockpit having separated from the wings and rear fuselage. It made an impression on me in that the pilot’s blood was clearly visible on the seat.
He sells some very cheap stuff, a pity the international postage makes it expensive! You’re helping towards his retirement, looking at your new additions, Graham.
What’s it on Graham? Where can we see it, sounds fun. Are you going to get all your planes on the telly?
Thanks for taking the trouble to post, interesting images. Particularly the ring and bead sight on the Baltimore.
Goblin combustion chamber? Wild stab!

No worries Mark and thanks for the scans. The voyage of discovery continues… Anyone got a spare emergency oxygen bottle or Mk3 regulator?

Hello Geoff, I’d be tempted by some small B36 bits. I am in the process of getting the accident report from the States. They were very big props on a B36!

You’ve got the bits, Tony, but it looks a challenge! This a Vickers pic from late Peter Foote collection which I uploaded a while ago. Similar details but contemporary. Are you going for a ‘no blind’ chassis indicator as well? Looking forward to seeing the finished result.
