thanks guys, really appreciated.
How would you go about finding where on Cannock Chase this happened, this is only for curiosity sake nothingh more as I live on the edge of the chase, (approx 4 miles from the German Cemetry). Most of the chase now is either scrub/heath land or Forrestry Commision plantation
In post 24, 9th December i said id emailed via the contact us link from their web site. Still waiting for a response.
To compare, a couple of years ago i saw ML407 display at a proms concert and my photos showed fluid leaking from mid wing which i have never noticed before, anyway i emailed the contact details on ML407s site to express concern and within 24hrs Carolyn had responded direct confirming it was nothing to worry about as it is normal and gave an explanation as to what was happening and thanked me for my concern.
Does this show that it really does come down to the person conected with the site and how IT aware they are? Again in comparison in a totaly non aviation issue, I email a company I use and they blank me, then says they are busy and i pay £600 a year for this so its not just enthusiasts web sites
We went for the first time in twenty years last Sunday for the Bomber Command book signing. I can not hide my dissapointment with the Museum, to riterate what others have already said, BoB Hall is tired dirty and a coal hole, the WW1 hall was clean and new but dead, only 1 person inside, seeing the RE8 and Albatross there was sad, they should be with OW for a few years, Milestone was light and airy but what was the “Milestone” and as for the main hall it is a mess, where is the themes, chronology etc etc etc. How are you supposed to photograph anything and i could not believe how dirty the B17, Halifax etc are. I live 20 min from Cosford and go that often that i did not realise how good it was in comparrison to Hendon.
The Skylon or what ever its called is a folly, spend the money where it is needed

ive had a small group on flickr going called final flights, nothing into Duxford but a few interesting things
there was a tweet Wednesday that they have had their 4th airworthy engine delivered. Very clean and new it looked to on the photo
Hampden, you asked
“What’s it like being a supporter these days? I was a supporter for 13 years but when it became a charity I felt a little left out.”
As a member I get two mags a year, an A4 sheet and a begging letter. Thats it. Please do not take this as moaning, I work in an industry where we have to print and understand the cost implications and also understand where my money is going after looking at the charity overview. I didnt go to the members day in 2012 as it was an expensive time of year for me.
You then commented
” With the Great Warbirds gone, Biggin Hill closed shes faded into the background a little. Need to fly the Sally B flag a bit more vigorously. Especially in these hard financial times.”
Your right, she is fading into the background, ive just looked at the news section on their site, last update, 11th July 2012, that is just poor but do understand that other issues may have been at play and indeed may still be. Also noted is that they do not use twitter, they could really learn something from VTS, Wellesbourne and Southend Vulcans and loads of others and surely they could email out something to registered users occasionaly. I know website maitenance is expensive but if this stream causes two people to join next year or donate, say £50 look what it this has done in a short period. I also think that operators should post on forums, taking the good and bad, look at Elvington’s Victor for example.
Even if this is the wrong thing to do ive mailed the contact address on the web site so they are aware of this stream, maybe something comes from it and she continues to fly in the UK
Think thats the first time ive seen HDR been useful amd work

Think they are missing a trick by not offering taxi rides to those that have not donated £395. We were lucky enough to be at Coventry a few years ago on the day Liberty Belle flew home. £5 to go in her or £50 for a taxi ride. They didnt have enough time for all those that wanted a taxi ride!
Also like the idea of actors / vehicles for a photo shoot, possibly at dusk / night with a few run ups and no clutter, drag a P51 out as well. Sorry to say she does need a change of scheme regularly like PA474 and would like to see A bit of lace but if memory serves correct i think the last repaint was donated.
I hope someone from Sally B is reading this stream
The year i passed my test i drove to St Athan and thought i was going to end of the world!!! Any way this must have been towards the end of 1986 and they ran up the FW190. Any one got any video?
hope you find your answers

forgot about that period, wonder why?
whats happened to the roundel on the 1/1 spit. Is this the camera?
Never looked at Aviation News, please correct me if im wrong but the letter that comes with the sub makes it sound as if they are going back to the old AI format ……which is why i used to buy it. Ill keep the sub open and see what happens in a few months time.
Still think Flypast have missed something here and should extend their remit a bit
I hate to say this but If any magazine should go then it should be Flypast!
Ive stood back and noted that Flypast has become a copy of Aeroplane Monthly, not as well written as Classic Aircraft and last with news which mostly has already been published in other magazines, even some of the articles appear to be the same.
It used to be the leader, the one that you waited for to drop on the mat and im sorry but it is now just a lazy, late clone. As another thread said they even thought the front cover was the same shot of Aeroplane last month.
Flypast needs a kick up the backside. Ive been receiving Flypast since the 80’s and im sorry but its gone downhill.

Could you manage another into your stable of the Vickers kind?
