Re “I noticed Clive (forumite Bamel) enjoying himself in that JP”, and so he should he half ownes her, and I should know, we sold her to him.
Good to see her being so well cared for, we still miss her like mad!!
Thanks for that.
Hi Matt
Thanks for that, I have borrowed a set of Avdel pliers as well now, so I will ring Nev today and sort things with him.
To taxi at Bruntingthorpe.
Now might be a good time to mention that this aircraft will also become a taxiable airframe at Bruntingthorpe if we can get the help!
Yep it’s Nev.
Hi Matt
Yep it’s Nev, he rang me last night to see if we could help him out. I may be able to get hold of a full set of Avdel pliers, so that’s a good start, but it’s rivets he is very short of now. And as you say, he want’s to be able to get it signed off.
Ritch
Thanks for the help.
Hi dh82jon
Thanks for that, and no we don’t have any kit at all!! It was all lent out in good faith a few years back and never returned, so he needs anything he can lay his hands on.
Best wishes,
Ritch.
Yes it’s EMA.
Hi all
Yes the BMA 707 is at East midlands. The photo was taken from a grass bank which was to the right (looking from the car park) of the Terminal building. I must have spent hundreds of hours sat in that same spot when I was a kid.
I would date it as mid 1970’s at a guess, I stopped sitting there in 1976, when I moved the other side of the fence and trained as an aircraft fitter at Field’s. I then spent as many hours the other side on Argosy’s, Herald’s and Viscount’s.
I loved that old BMA livery, and still think it was one of the best on the 707 and One- Eleven.
Great days.
Thanks Wyvernfan.
Thanks Wyvernfan
I will look into it.

Sorry, no idea.
Hi
Yes, we agree that it looks Chinees. the coaming was purchased on it’s own and we have no idea of it’s history. We just hoped someone might have an idea what it was all about, or maybe remembered someone who liked to doodle to leave a mark on his work.
An inside view.
Hi all
Untill a few weeks ago, I worked for the company, based in Nottinghamshire who manufacture the parts concerned.
The wing rib is a very large one piece vertical web, with lighteneing holes, vertical and horezontal stiffeners etc all machined into the rib, also machined in are the web feet, which are basicaly angled brackets (cleats) machined to fit between stiffeners (stringers) machined into the top and bottom wing skins. The feet are then attached with mechanical fasteners to the wing skins to form the wing assembly.
If the feet should for any reason shear, then the skins are no longer attached to the ribs, simple as that. And with a wing full of a large weight in fuel, it is a very serious situation.
There are answers to both improvments to new wings and ways to repair the existing ones. There have been big changes at the manufacturer concerned, including top managment changes. But that is about all I can say without risk of legal action.
Yes, and us,
But we found the perfect answer, we joined that group of people who beaver away in sheds and garages all year round, but enjoy a good get together at Aero jumble’s and the highlight of our year Cockpitfest,
Every single person there has something of interest to show and talk about, but, we all go our seperate ways afterwards and just work by ourselves again. In all honesty, we have found it to be the perfect answer.
Happy new year.
Hi all
Happy new year!!
Max and I spent a good part of the 31st working on the Chipmunk, which we are determined we will display, whatever the condition she is in, this year.
Max is also working on two or three new instrument panel displays, which will be new items from him this year. Not as impresive as most of you other guys, but by getting in first, at least we will be noticed!!
Look forward to seeing everyone again.
Ritch and Max.
