    Thanks for coming!

Thanks for the possitive coments so far guy’s. We are the owners / opperators of the Jet Provost, XN584, so after spending such a hard wet day at the airfield, it is heart warming to here such possitive comments.
We arrived at about 08-15 this morning and were soaked through to the skin till we got home this evening. It was probably the hardest open day we have ever done.
Considdering the weather, it was nothing short of a mirracle that we were able to put on a show at all, for me, the highlights were the Lightning, Victor, Canberra and the pride at seeing my son ground crew the Jet Provost by himself for the first time ever on it’s first run (belive me, it takes confidence to stand out in front of all those camera’s, as they will record your every mistake for ever!!!).
The Vulcan tried to steal the show, but I think the achivements of the guys who do it on next to NO buget, but produce the goods at showtime are the real stars.
Thanks to all those who came along, and we hope you had a good day, see you again in the future, hopefully when the sun shines!!!!!!!!!

    We will do our best.

    Hi
No, no flying, just a chance to get up close and personal with some all time classic aircraft. What makes Bruntingthorpe different, is that you can touch, even sit in most of the aircraft, then feel and here the awsome brute force and power of these great machines.
If you have never been before, Bruntingthorpe will be a very different sort of airshow, and we hope a very personal and enjoyable expirience.
We all run on tight bugets, but we never cut corners, and you will be hard pressed to find so much enthusiasm anyware else.
Bring a camera, and we will try and make it a happy face!
And be sure to say hello and introduce yourself to us, it’s good to meet people and put a face to names.

    Looking good for tomorrow.

    Hi All
We just got home from Bruntingthorpe, after a long hard day. All is looking very good for tomorrow, I belive the Lightning lads have a supprise up there sleeves, which should be great, the Hunter and Jet Provost WILL both be running and are already possitioned on the flight line as I write this.
The rest of the Museum has been re-aranged, with a very impresive cockpit line up which includes a German F-4 Phantom cockpit just in from Poland.
The Super Guppy has been cleansd and is gleaming, and quite a few stalls were being set up as well.
The Vulcan XH558, will be out in the fresh air, with talk of an APU run and flying control demonstration and possibly an engine run later in the day.
So please come along and say hello, it should be a greatday out.

    We will do our best.

If the weather is as bad as predicted, we will do what we always do under those circumstances, put on the best show we still can! Indeed, a Lightning or Victor run in the rain can be even more spectacular than a dry one. We also have one of the worlds biggest rain shelters, the Super Guppy, and welll worth looking around to.
Don’t let a bit of rain spoil your fun, were British, and take these things in our stride!!!!
Hope we still see you all there on Sunday.

    Victor’s for Mrs R & M.

Mrs R & M has a thing about Victor’s, and always heads for the crowd line at Brunty when B.A.H.’s does a fast taxi run. Not so keen on the “little things that make all that noise” though!
It will be interesting to see how she is aroused by the Vulcan!!!!

    Sorry!

    Hi Andy
Sorry if I gave the impresion you guys were taking it easy! I shold have known better! It was Lee who ran B.A.H.’s Bucc for a while, and I spent most of the day trying to get some corroded screws out of our stbd tip light lens without breaking it, got there in the end, but over 4 hours, just to change a duff bulb, I am only glad the weather played ball again.
I bet people on this forum think it must be great to own a runner! just turn up on a Saturday, pull off a few covers, climbe in and play at being Biggles, if only it was that easy. I chalange any of them to come down on a January Saturday and have a go!! you know what I mean!!!
Anyway, I will say sorry again and encourage all to come along an meet us all on May 25th, it looks like it could be a great day.

    Brunty’s buzzing!

    Hi Ben
There is a third Buccaneer in work at Bruntingthorpe, but I believe it is some way off running still. However there is a real depth of knowledge on Bucc’s at Brunty, so, if it can happen anywhere, that’s the place.
There is a real “buzz” about Bruntingthorpe at the moment, I was there today working on our Jet Provost, XN584. There was a large group working on the Bucc’s, with one getting a run, and another an engine change, ourselves and the rest of the lads from Phoenix Aviation on the Jet Provost’s and two Hunter’s, Matt was hard at work painting the Sea Vixen, Bob from B.A.H. was hard at work on the Mystere IV and Brian has started work on his new Starfighter, which will soon sprout wings again. The Lightning group were a bit quiet after last weeks photo day, but they deserve the odd day off the work they do.
I also believe the Vulcan will be flying again in the next few days, so, the place is well and truly buzzing!
If we get decent weather, I think the May 25th open day will be one of the best yet, so be sure to come along if you can.

    Bruntingthorpe runners

    Bruntingthorpe.
    Victor, 2 x Lightning’s, Comet, Iskra, Canberra, 2 x Buccaneer’s, 2 x Jet Provost’s, Hunter at the moment.
A Hunter T-8 is nearing completion, the Sea Vixen has run in the recent past, and may run again soon and if an engine can be found, the German Starfighter may run one day.

    Re LPG.

    Ben
When you get the chance to visit us at Bruntingthorpe, we will have to make sure you meet the Lightning Preservation Group guy’s. If anyone can answer your question, it’s them!
You will also come away with a new found admiration for what they do, and how they do it.
