Hmm.. let me think about that again.. F-35 is cheaper than Rafale.. while Rafale is only marginally more expensive than Super Hornet.. which logically means there is nothing to be afraid of when it comes to comparison of the prices between the F-18 and F-35…

    oh, wait.. 🙂

the problem with your statement is Rafale being marginally more expensive than super hornet.
tons of people here put up quotes from various competitions of the Rafale being significantly more expensive than the super hornet.

Comrade Justin was played by Boeing.

The Canadian leftists will soon realize they bought a small fleet of expensive, 1990-technology unicorns which have no commonality with their fleet of legacy Hornets. They have different airframes, different engines, different avionics, different training, different spares and logistics. Those are expensive differences and because there are only 18 unicorns, there will be no economies of scale. When comrade Justin and his leftists get defeated in the next election, the best thing the new government can do is sell the unicorns to Kuwait or Malaysia or some other country with SHs (probably at a deep discount).

Kudos to Boeing. Boeing will laugh all the way to the bank at comrade Justin’s expense. What is the old saying about a fool and his money?

comrade Trump also wants to buy Boeings over F-35s.
    how’s that.

    wow, that’s hot.

Chinese airplanes generally had this long, unproportional look to them. at least to all of us who are non-Chinese and non-Pakistani.
but this one looks great. far better than the j-20.

Hope it gets adopted somewhere. PLAN, Pakistan, Vietnam, Iran, Nkorea, Russia..etc

based on the responses here, it seems many want the boeing/saab model to win.
    my answer is why?

the Lockheed T-50 variant and the Leonardo certainly seem the most low risk and perhaps the cheapest option

so any other major differences/changes in the 50-8 prototype besides the pitot tube.
and why did they re-add it? New radar being tested?

So after a quick search and a going back a few pages without clear result… can anyone clarify as to which no. of flying prototype s/n 056 is? Is it the 8th, or 9th?

And how many more prototypes are expected before LRIP or first batch production (and are those expected to use izd 30, or continue with interim engines)?

    Much appreciated.

No, Alex didn’t closely look at the file name and description on the KNAAPO site

he posted TWO different aircraft. 6 and 8.
Note that the 8th has a pitot tube on the radome.

    Are you referring to this?

    Article by Henri Kenhmannhttp://www.eastpendulum.com/premier-exercice-tirs-reels-gan-liaoning

    hmm yes thanks.
looks like they are just flying empty but with two missiles.
i assume “live firing” means those missiles since the flankers are coming back empty

    DISCLAIMER: there are rumors

The 2x J-20 had been the aggressors (blue force). During one engagement, the red force had been comprised of AWACS, J-10, J-11, Su-30. There is some confusion here, whether they were J-11/Su-30 or J-16. But the J-10 were at least J-10B, possibly even J-10C. Both KJ-200 and KJ-2000 were part of the exercise but not clear which one was used during that engagements with the J-20. Anyway, at the very early stages of the confrontations, one of the J-20 takes out the AWACS. Once the AWACS was gone J-10s and flankers were completely lost. They were totally unable to locate the J-20. Not clear whether the AWACS itself detected the J-20. All of the Red-force were taken-out by the 2x J-20. It seem even in WVR J-10s and flankers RADARs were unable detect the J-20. There were also rumors about complete confusion between the Red-forces and their ground-control units once the AWACSs were gone. Essentially they were fighting ghosts. And according to more rumors, since things are extremely one-sided, they are planning the bring in counter-stealth assets to even the odds (Probably RADARs JY-50 and systems like DWL001/DWL002).

So even IF part of this is true, yes, the J-20 has made nice handsome debut but it also shows even with AWACS support, how poorly earlier gen fighters like the J-10, J-11 will fare against 5th gen fighters like the F-22 and F-35. If the engagements involved the KJ-2000 with multiple J-10C and they were unable detect the J-20, that is extremely worrisome. J-10C, KJ-2000, KJ-500 are some of the most advanced assets in the PLAAF.

    thank you my juicy friend.

i guess it means either the J-20 is full of pwnage, or the kj-2000 and j-10s sucks big time. maybe both.
hmm I should become j-20 sausage.
