x-32 probably would’ve been better in the A or C versions
wing area hasn’t changed fuel capacity in the proposed revision.
but who knows if they would’ve revised it if one eliminated the B.
Right now for me, the way the MiG-35 is shaping up, vs my expectations from 6 years ago.
could you go into detail what you were expecting 6 years ago
and the current situation today?
First of all, congrat to the Chinese. Nice Airshow.
A few questions if i may;
Why can’t we see any serial numbers on those two J-20 doing flight display? And just how many J-20 prototype or pre-serial have been build and are flying at current day?
There was some reports that they have over 10 flying airframes.. if so, why not send more to the Airshow, it would send a nice message out.The Russians back in 2013(or 2015?) send four of the PakFa prototypes to the MAKS airshow, where three of them did a formation flight and the next day, the 4th prototype also did a flyby/display.
That was almost all of them.So if China got like 10 of J-20, why not send more to the Airshow then?
hmm, maybe you have a good point.
you are saying pak-fa is really at a more advance stage because they can get more flying at the same time
Oh, I am sure you will enlighten us..
could you tell me what engines these are msquare?
😉
Can anyone help ??
Do we know the external diameter of the AL-31F/FN’s nozzle?
Thanks in advance,
Deino
same as others. 1.28e+9 nanometer
just like the one powering the brand new versions of the j-20 😉

reminds me of this picture which was before the j-20 came out.
everyone began overanalyziing it

China to buy new model Russian helicopters including the Ansat (built by muslims). chosen over z-11 and other types

Should the US be worried?
In terms of a direct comparison with the US Air Force’s own stealth fighters — the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter — the J-20 is undeniably less stealthy.
The forward-mounted canards, poorly shielded engines and underside vertical stabilizers all limit the amount that its radar cross section — which determines how visible the aircraft is to a radar — can be reduced.
China also has significantly less know-how in terms of radar-absorbent coatings compared with the United States. Most importantly, it is extremely unlikely that the J-20 is equipped with anything approaching the F-22’s and F-35’s sensor suite.
This is crucial because it is not only the fact that they are hard to detect on radar that makes the F-22 and F-35 so deadly, but also the unrivaled situational awareness that their sensor-fusion capabilities give to their pilots.
However, despite the fact that the J-20 almost certainly cannot match the radar-evading properties or situational-awareness capabilities of US-made stealth fighters, it does have several advantages over them.
First, due to its larger size it will carry significantly more internal fuel, so it will have a longer range and be less dependent on vulnerable aerial refueling tankers in the vast Asia-Pacific. It also has larger internal weapons bays than either the F-22 or F-35, so it will be able to carry larger, longer-range missiles or a greater load of standard air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions than either of the US designs.
Finally, the J-20 is almost certainly going to be produced in far larger numbers than the F-22 and potentially even the F-35 if Chinese defense spending continues on current trajectories in relation to the United States and its allies.
Entirely correct.
but why did the US allow Israel all these other tech transfers to China like the Python and Lavi
F-35 over hyped? in what universe?
going to any comments section of F-35 news you will see a lot of amateur bashing it with their “knowledge”, “wisdom” from APA and defense issue blogIt missed the sustained G and acceleration metrics but then there are alot of features people thought F-35 dont have, but turn out it do such as
_ Carry towed decoy
_ Have internal jammer that seperate from APG-81
_ Having IR reduction measures
_ coating working at wide frequency range not just X band
_ Powerful radar (previously thought to be weaker than APG-79)
_ Carry Meteor
… etc
don’t mind harvey party, he always had a strong bias against f-35 and anything American.
not that I disagree it is overhyped or disappointing, I think its too early. same for criticisms on pakkyfa
I found your comments very well elaborated in those posts above, then I just have been taken a small part of this first post in reason of that:
As far I Know China had been opted for interceptors Su 27SK since the early 90s when the multi-mode Su 27M and Su 30M were available for export too. Then China had opted for Su 30MKK and Su 30MK2 while Su 30MKI with TVC and radar PESA were available for export as well.
Besides the absence of the TVC into Su 30MKK and Su 30MK2 it has not been equipped with PESA N011M Bars radar, but instead with N001VE/VEP radars.
In fact there aren’t any client of the Su 30MKK or Su 30MK2( Venezuela, Vietnam, Uganda and Indonesia) that has been opted for radar PESA N011M Bars or Zhuk MSA, and there aren’t any client of the Su 30MKI (India, Algeria, and Malaysia) that has opted for the radar N001VE / VEP or even the slotted phase array Zhuk MSE.
Maybe it’s just a coincidence, or there are some conections in the Su 30MKI between PESA radar with: TVC and canards.
Apparently China has bought 24 Su 35 from Russia, and these will be equipped with TVC as PESA radar.
But the main fact is that the J 10 has been continuously improved since the early version, and among the new features of J 10C/D would be a new engine from China , as well as a new AESA radar could be in late-stage development.
Just reason for China has not been striven to promote J 10 so far could have been more related at the fact that the main systems of the J 10A/B has been imported or related with foreign countries as Russia about the engine and radar, otherwise as the J 10C/D has been incorporating Chinese system I suppose the aggression of China in the international market will increase considerably in the near future, as well as the J 10 will be exposure more and more.
In fact Israel has been actively participating in China’s defense market since the 80s, as well the others countries once the fighter bomber JH 7 has been equipped with R&R Spey since them. I guess that Israel had participated in the development of the J 10, since it would be even more effective in terms of time and cost for China to acquire existing technologies than to start their development from the first stage.
This collaboration between Israel and China could have been decreased in the last decade due to the cancellation of the sale of AWACS Phalcon system from Israel to China in reason of the high pressure from EUA against this deal, which led China to develop its own KJ 2000 system.
you’re wasting your time. guy is long gone.
not that it matters, if you look through his posts, he has a history of being wrong and refusing to admit it.
j-10 length, first said its the same as f-16, then says its eurofighter, and now with official data out, its 16.43 meters. slightly less than the mig-29
also check out his threads on mig-29 in China. argued tooth and nail it was in china until normal posters here proved it was a photoshopped romanian one
I think he is also the same guy who thinks boeing named the 787 because of China and the number 8. not because 8 was the next number in the series
is the Tejas problem simply that some people are expecting too much out of it.
thinking its supposed to be a high end gripen, when its supposed to be a slightly better jf-17 built in numbers cheaply?
WTF is that…….??? Just a simulator a future J-10 variant?
the aircraft on the screen has a delta and two engines, maybe its a j-20 simulator
This day will be remembered!
Now your next line: “They copied F-35 paint”
😀
I would but your teammate byoin is more likely to say that
What does his sexual-orientation have to do with this? Alan Turing was gay.
