Also no stealth paint on that one (I don’t see any filler).

yep, we can see it doesn’t use stealth paint..
or at least the same stealth paint as the f-35. it could be using a different kind.
but its closer to the type used by late model f-16s and black rafale.

    Few more J-20:

this angle is actually very nice. the pakfa style splinter camoflage and the light colored edges help break up the large body of the plane into smaller parts that make the plane look much nicer.

so any ideas where the first squadron will be placed? Towards Taiwan? Japan? or Vietnam?

Here’s a mock-up of the Mirage 4000 two-seater with Mica. Rafale is virtually the same aircraft at 75% of the weight.

wouldn’t the mirage 4000 still have more range and more radar range if assuming it is using the same set as the Rafale.

I think some of you guys need to google what “BBW” means if you think some of the above aircraft qualify.

    BBW:

exactly, we’re looking at the fat, round, slow and large aircraft
not those large sleek fast bombers. (although those are nice too)

hi deino. thank you for your interest in Chinese aviation and contribution.

I don’t know you well but is this your book?

    lol, dude!!!
you should get rid of that link! it’s not cool.
although thanks for the free PDF!
its a compilation of all the pics found on this forum and others, and others peoples analysis.
but remove the link, some people make a living on books.

Europe has no need for a 5th gen fighter besides the F-35. Europe also cannot afford a 6th gen fighter program that isn’t a multinational work share program. Ergo no single European country will develop their own 5th or 6th gen fighter, unless we’re talking about UAS.

Even Russia needed Indian financing for Pak Fa. At this rate I doubt Russia can go it alone with 6th gen either.

If you go to the Pak-fa thread, they will tell you the Indian contribution is not that significant for the success of the program

Looking at Iranian experience with Chinese aircraft is a bit like asking Cubans for opinion on the state of modern US auto industry. :highly_amused:

unfortunately we won’t be able to get any idea of their newest things since outside of Pakistan, no one really orders them or wants them.
but their old stuff were popular. but we do know the Iranians weren’t happy with the F-7s, the Thais complained about the quality of the ships, and the Iraqis were not happy with the tanks.

I did a quick search for Mirage 2000 crashes, and came up with this?
    http://www.ejection-history.org.uk/Aircraft_by_Type/Mirage_2000/mirage_2000.htm

Not sure about the full accuracy of the list… but a quick search does show quite a few news reports of Mirage 2000 crashes, some in ROC service, some in Greek service, some French, some UAE, so at any rate the actual Mirage 2000 crashes I think is quite a bit higher than 2-3, and the crashes aren’t only in IAF service.
And considering Mirage 2000 has been built in large numbers and in service for quite a few decades, that kind of crash/accident rate is pretty normal.

i think you are correct. mirage 2000 is a more dangerous plane.

    Alert 5 has another photo

    http://alert5.com/2016/10/22/caught-on-camera-jh-7-crashes-today/#more-58434

there’s only a handful of jh7s..200-300 yet more than 4-5 crashes
in comparison the Mirage 2000 has around 600 built and only 2-3 crashes. Almost all in Indian service.

time to withdraw the jh-7. the Su-30 clones already do its job, and better.

while our chinabot friends are feverishly debating over the size of airplanes or non-existant stealth paint
something bad happened. a JH-7 crashed a few hours ago

    http://defence-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/CvXn96bWIAAInf1.jpg

no word on the pilots. but it would probably be a good time to consider withdrawing these old jets.

no, Deino speaks for all of us. And we are sick and tired of Russian nationalists invading our section with their pettiness and jealousy.
They know our J-10 and J-20 are innovative designs. they know the J-20 put significantly more effort in all around stealth not just the front. they know the j-20 will reach service first, even though its first flight was later.
that is why they are so desperate to discredit it with things like being a mig, even though it looks NOTHING like it. or its size. even though all Chinese aviation fans know J-10 is 15m and J-20 is 20m. look it up.

plus roughtly 1.5 meters for both 😉
