Just to clarify, we are talking about IS air force here, right?

wouldn’t be surprised. he has shown his sympathies towards isis every now and then.

but since he insists, I think this kind of aircraft and tactics are closer to what our Bangla friend prefers

perhaps he will be a test pilot?

    remember, he said

low-budget air force which wants a basic 4-gen aircraft

I know you get a free ticket from the Mods here, maybe because of your religio-ethnic identity. Don’t think we don’t know 😉

yes, play the race/religion card because your arguments have been exposed as retarded millions of times.
like how the JF-17 is superior to the su-30MKI because the JF-17 will get all these capabilities and upgrades (that don’t exist NOW) and the Su-30MKI will somehow not get any updates during the same time

by the way here is an F-5 with Python and Derby

    where’s your J-7 with SD-10?

A pretty significant development in the PRC’s engine program.

The medium trust ws-13 is coming out of the shadows soon? This would power the J-31 as well as the JF-17.

Paris Air Show 2015: JF-17 fighter flying with indigenous Chinese turbofan

Richard D Fisher Jr, Paris – IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly
    15 June 2015
    Key Points
Chinese officials at the Paris Air Show have said flight-testing of a new indigenous engine for the JF-17 Thunder is under way
Officials also confirmed that the Sino-Pakistani-developed aircraft had achieved its first international sale, although they did not disclose the customer
A senior Chinese aviation official has revealed that the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation FC-1/JF-17 fighter co-developed with Pakistan has been test-flown with a new Chinese medium-thrust turbofan engine.

Li Yuhai, an executive vice president with the Aviation Industries Corporation of China (AVIC), told IHS Jane’s at the Paris Airshow that a new Chinese turbofan for the J-17 has been “under testing,” has completed “lab tests”, and that “flight testing is in progress”.

great, guess it’ll be ready in 2025

    F-5N wins.
They have the shark nose and enlarged LERX for increased maneuverability. Plus iirc some weight savings thanks to their role like deleted guns.

    let him have this one.

he kept changing variables in another thread so his upgraded j-8 idea would seem reasonable, but got his heart broken when the entire forum said it was a stupid idea.
    now he’s switched to j-7.

so yes.. if we exclude BVR, radar capability, service life, nose and lerx upgrades, and limit the rules to variants that only have wing modifications and guns.. then yes j-7 wins! 😉

LOL, but there were proposals that Turkey is to undertake Greeces 1.6bil € debt or provide zero interest loan should Greeks accept, in the hopes of “earning the friendship of Greek people and turn the Aegean Sea into a sea of peace”. Since the offer is made by Kurdish People’s party, I would assume it is sincere, but if we look at the past few incidents, Greeks are simply too proud to accept any help from us.

I thought you were Greek this whole time.

    since we’re on the F-5,

did the Singaporean F-5S/T ever get their AMRAAMs delivered?
the modified wing/lerx, inflight refueling capabilities, plus AMRAAM means it can rip apart any J-7 way before they can even get close..

the Chilean F-5s probably worse since they have Python 4 and Derby to snipe them from afar, or slit their throats up close.

as JSR would say, J-7 is limited because of its small nose. no potential for better radar.

It would be interesting if Greece was willing to sell some of their military hardware for cash. F-16s, M-2000s, frigates, submarines, C-130s / C-27s… S-300? Lots of stuff that countries could be interested in, for the right price.

right! potentially lots of great deals! maybe in Latin America or Indonesia!

don’t worry about Bangladesh though, lots of cheap multi role J-8s and JF-17s coming their way! who needs falcons or mirages when you have the light sabre for the third world?

Russia is such a dear good ally that recently confirmed that its state imposed empargo on agricultural products will stay in effect this year too, no exception for Greece despite vague promises. It’s a huge blow to the last productive sector in the country.

There is a nice (sarcastic) proverb in Greek for this case: “He who has such friends what use does he have for enemies?” :p

interesting. did not know that the Greeks are not as warm to Russia as thought.
in anycase a scale back of the military certainly would have implications on its ability to deter the Turks no?

Careful there, what F5E are we talking about? A Chilean or Brasilian F5E are a very diferent proposition of a “South Vietnamese” airframe. The first time that a Adla Mirage 2000 crossed paths with a Chilean Tiger the result was not the expected one, cumpliments of the Elbit HMD and the Python 4 (this particular episode, if anyone is interested was in the late nineties, when Dassault tried to sell the Mirage 2000 to the Fach; the first time that the aircraft was flown to Chile, a two seater was flown against a recently upgraded F-5E III, the Dash HMD carried the day, this was described by Air International circa 1998).

oh yes, I totally forgot about the Chilean F-5.. such a thorough and formidable upgrade. it should literally tear any J-7 variant to pieces no matter how many times they deform the wing.
