so when is the Israeli F-35 gonna be rolled out? its supposed to debut this year
That’s all well and good, but that doesn’t answer the question of which is the better WVR fighter. I think that the answer lies in not trying to find information on a direct comparison, but a comparison via the F-16. We have reliable accounts of the F-5 vs the F-16 and some accounts of lesser quality of the F-16 vs the F-7PG.
i think a J-8 upgraded with new engines, aesa, and sd-10 could totally destroy the f-5 and j-7! and there’s lots of cheap j-8s around.
SR AF has publicly stated they havent ordered anything yet so Tejas is still on
If you think I only post positive news you need to take a look @ the Russian navy thread.
Pretty much me bitching about BS claims left and right. Further my opinion of a number of Indian programs (cough Arjun) is far from positive. Have gotten into quite a few arguments with Indian posters on that subject. You however have an agenda that is as clear as day.
I still remember when you refused to write “RIP” or any sort of condolences when giddily posting about a fatal IAF crash.Stay classy champ.
whats wrong with the Arjun?
Ulan-Ude rolls out new Mi-8 for Angola:

Weapons ‘useless’
I first spoke with Mahmoud Abid, a man in his early twenties.
How was the training, I asked. Was it useful?
“Yes, yes, very useful,” he shrugged, but quickly got around to what he really wanted to talk about.
“The weapons they gave us are useless,” he said, patting his AK-47 assault rifle.
“We can’t fight ISIS with this. We need heavier weapons, Russian or American weapons.”
He also said he had yet to be paid after four months of training.

‘Where’s our pay?’
Mahmoud’s comrade, Hamdallah, after adjusting his AK-47 on his chest, explained that after six months he also had not been paid.
The ceremony was to be followed by distribution of salaries, I told him, so you will be paid.
“Yes, for just one month, not the other months,” he replied.
These are young men, I thought. Perhaps one of the tribal leaders who had watched the ceremony might have a better idea of what was really going on.
Shaikh Abdallah Al-Issawi is from Amariyat Al-Fallouja, a nearby Sunni town that has resisted ISIS for 18 months.
A tall man in a traditional robe or dishdasha, and headscarf, he radiated the authority of a man who leads other men in battle.
Is it true these volunteers haven’t been paid in months? I asked.
“Until now, they haven’t been paid one dinar,” he said.
“Even if they’ve been well-trained, they’re disenchanted. Their families can’t buy a bag of flour, a gallon of gas or a kilo of tomatoes.”
All the while, he added, “officials and officers come to this base, promise this and that, and nothing changes.”
Who on earth mentioned surpassing Qatar on a per capita basis? Show me. You spoke of iraq not having money for rifle bullets. Do us your Google magic…. And show us.
As for aesa radar on the t50… No one knows what radar comes on it.
sorry don’t have time to sort out through all your crazy claims, you know what you said. Iraq’s economy isn’t going anywhere. in fact Iraq is only a country in name. worry about that first before you continue expanding that wish list of weapons, most of which will never come.
The real question is, why new aircraft at all ? Why not just upgrade the available airframes to SMT standard ? Airframe life extension included. Since most advanced a2g weapons would be new additions to the armory, no need to restrict the source. Russian ammunitions are not that much more expansive compared to Chinese ones.
If the desire exists, even additional airframes can be bought at firesale prices:

our radical bengali friend there is simply just fantasizing about various scenarios that could justify the addition of last-last gen, single role, new type of fighter into the Bangla AF
don’t ruin her fantasy!
Iraq’s economy contracted 2.1% in 2014 and is expected to not even reach single digit growth this year. Had to beg IMF for money
How’s that plan to surpass Oman or Qatar or whatever’s economy lol.. let alone pay for fantasy fifth gen jets or heavily updated fourth gen with aesa?
Oh, my bad, I think I messed up on the range calculations. No, in that case I would go with a JF-17 and leave out on the J-8 / JH-7Bs…
LOLOL
I am still not getting it. Why J-8? Last time I checked it was an almost pure A-A interceptor. Why would anyone go the lengths of upgrading such unsuitable aircraft for the A-G role when there is the JF-17 to buy off the shelf?
the retard level on that one is strong. even after everyone explaining how impractical and expensive it would be, she’s still insisting.
since we’re at it. how about MiG-25s, Su-15s, modified for ground attack (must be cheap, tons stored somewhere!) or since she gets a stiffy for Chinese things, modify a Q-5 into a modern fighter with AESA
You are simply incapable of comprehending the difference between actual information and “what if” scenario discussion for the future. The fact that everyone else on the forum can seem to understand the difference is telling.
its quite easy to tell the difference
90% of what you say is “what if” or “i wish” scenarios
10% of the other stuff is information anyone can google about Iraq, but too lazy to.
Sadly now repainted in a bogus ‘standard’ Flanker scheme at Monino……
Ken
that is extremely unfortunate..
guess bort 709 is the next best one then
an upgrade of existing mig-29 to SMT or UPG is very reasonable.
Bangladesh doesn’t have significant maritime disputes the way SE Asian countries have, or serious border ones.
It has risk of smugglers, insurgents, etc. which demands better use of helicopters and other surveillance aircraft.
they just did this huge ass border swap with India a few days ago that simplifies the border between the two.
there’s some decades of distrust between the two it seems
Bengalis still bitter at Pakistani genocide and rape
other wise they have fair to good relations with everyone else.
