It’s Islander scare tactics. No more no less!!!

I repeat… The article has been circulating throughout Chinese
web sites for months. It’s a repeat job. It’s garbage! It’s a boring piece
of crap sold by independent seekers of some island under the Chinese sun in the
hope of generating/firing up separation sentiment within the masses.

And I thought you guys are the smart ones. How silly!!!

I never said that the j-6s was a threat. What I said was that
some of the things that they do house in those underground shelters, however,
can post a threat. Example: SAMs, SSMs, and in many instances, other much
deadlier aircrafts had been shown inside shelters like that.

Well… it certainly is your perogative to laugh :). But, this thread
is not about the j-6s, it concerns something far more serious. It’s about mini-nukes
and why they are interested/considering it a part of their arsenalds.

Hey Rocky, Even with the J-6s, if they have enough of them, and
God knows that they do, it remains a danger to the forces in the theatre of military
operation if shelters like these keeps A/Cs away from harms way.

Anyway, imagine those to be Chinese MiG-21(Es) or better and
that it’s armed with SD-10s and such instead of j-6s armed with sidewinders.
I’d bet Kim Jong Il the IInd. would have something to worry about if he ever tries to
cross over the Yalu River with his MiG-23s and such don’t you agree???l!!!

Seems someone’s really trying to stir up some East Asian feud
or sentiments here!!! Truth: That is old old news, something that most all
East Asians had passed up as a joke and never took as serious, if otherwise,
you would have seen that article clicked here in AFM eons ago.

    Nice try however :)!!!

Well, it goes without saying: Yes, indeed such logic would apply to
any/all nations. I mean what other recourses are there for you except to shop
elsewhere if your normal supply line has all of a suddently been cut ???

Example: If the Russians didn’t quit on the Chinese as they did
in the 50’s and 60’s and the experience of buying airplanes was like the ordering
of a happy meal from McDonald’s, in my view, the Chinese probably wouldn’t have
had the need or the incentive to develop their own Big Macs.

Regardless, I’m sure the Pakistans wouldn’t want to give up their JF-17 now
that it’s proven a success. It’s a plane they had played a huge part in developing and
a plane which, in all truth, will help Pakistan jump start its aviation industry.

From here, many great things will happen to both the Pakistani and the Chinese
aviation industry. The aviation industry of both nations are now standing firmly on their
own two feets. They now don’t need to beg others to keep their AF shipshape!!!

    My take:

I gather the reason for that is because you do not have much
confidence in things Chinese or things Pakistani. You may even lack confidence in
yourself cos of the competitive nature these projects are proving.

Now, the “Made in China” syndrome:

If “Made in China” is so inferior to you, then,
why all of this “OUT SOURCING” outrage or this “China phobia”??? Why all
the fear-mongering about Chinese techs being at par with or maybe even
competitive to some from out of the west???

    “Remember: China did not express
those competitive fears and concerns — prominent and authoritative
sources from out of the west did!!!”

    More Examples:

Why do you, or some of you anyway, buy that rich and elegant-looking
dinning room suite which have this despised “Made in China” tag attached when you can
stick to something which says made in the UK or in Made in The US of A???

Why do you buy the Made in China
tools that you do when you can stick to those of your own mfg if
    Chinese handi-works are so inferior???

Why do you wear the garment which says
“Made in China” when you can buy Martha Steward’s Made in the
good old US of As??? Why shop WalMarts???

    Sentimental feelings…
Yes, sentimental feelings — it’s a funny thing!!!!
    It’s human nature I guess.

True. I don’t see the FC-1 being able to market in nations, which are closer US allies. Its not as much about the just the plane but about influence and such.

“If Pakistan has a F-16 assembly line, they would be building F-16s instead of JF-17s in a few years.”

    No doubt.

“I say everything is pointing to a FC-1 prospect that is about as “grim” as the K-8’s which had a similiar degree of disadvantage to a F-16-like world beater/standard bearer in its class, the Hawk.”

Well a lot of the K-8s success in Egypt can also be pointed to the fact the UK can’t “sell” the Hawk like the Americans “sell” the F-16. In other words all but giving them away. The K-8 has had respectable success on the export market with sales to various nations around the world. Granted Burma, Sri Lanka and Pakistan getting it are not surprises, the Egyptian sale was a case of good marketing.

“First by Pakistan and then from all the other countries that for whatever reasons are using Chinese equipment today.”

True. Some of the less aligned nations could take a very serious look at the plane. Generally the Chinese market to nations which either are trying for a cheap arms build up (Iraq, Sri Lanka, Pakistan) or don’t have many friends (Burma). I would not be shocked in the least at the Bangladeshi buy of the FC-1 and/or K-8.

“why shouldnt PAF lobby USa if it could possibly get few F-16s for free out of aid.”

Once again did I say anything was wrong with the PAF still wanting the F-16A/B? In fact it makes a lot of sense why they would still want the plane even now.

“SD-10 and troung, your two way nationalist bickering is giving me a headache”

Who is a nationalist? Not me.

Outsourcing is the most mystical of all beasts evil…

It does not recogonize international borders; it can not differentiate
friends from competitors; it does not recogonize the color of the skin; its lifeline
is not based on the concepts of political ideologies….

Its life source is based on the logics and the realities of economics!!!

i mean..why not? hell even if we had Rafales (e.g.) we would want free F-16s…

Fc-1 offers to Pak what F-16 will never offer..will Americans give us the blue prints of the planes?? ToT for avionics?? SC of the softwares…NO, FC-1 could be upgraded physically and and in terms of avionics at the time of PAF’s Choosing, F-16s wont offer that…

    FC-1 or Free F-16s:

Indeed, why not if it’s already been
paid for??? It’s rightly and legally yours anyhow if international rules of law apply. But it doesn’t!

    Anyway, on to the FC-1/JF-17:

    Accordingly, to this state
run media (PD), there is a total of four
    different models for the FC-1.

    http://www.peopledaily.com.cn/GB/junshi/1076/2422703.html

While avionics and load capabilities are
primary differences. It is said here however that the fourth
model sports a totally different configuration.
