I did think that at one point as she is rite near the window but i spose taking those huge glass pannels is a nasty and expensive job
Oh i thought it was just a hanger door with glass that could open and shut. Never knew the glass is placed there.

James.
Yes I think they did have an F15 at Legends last year didn’t they as part of a Heritage Flight? I stand corrected.
I don’t understand the comment about the Lancaster. Both the Lancaster and Dakota are piston engined.

Did the F-15 open the show before doing the Heritage Flight?
I think I was thinking more as the Dakota enignes are Rounded and the Lancaster are not etc but then when I posted that last night I thought they have Spitfires & hurricanes they the same engines as the Lanc.
James
Sorry but looks like sunday is off too 🙁 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/gloucestershire/7503580.stm

Fantastic shots Darren 😎 thanks for posting.
James
Just thought could they off got B-17 Mary Alice out of the AAM to be next to Sally b Pink Lady & Liberty Belle?
James
Nice shots there Chris thank you for posting. 😎
James
James
Correct, B-26 is the Swedish one and I don’t remember being in a DC-3. For £3 I did get a wander around inside the ‘Liberty Belle’ though
As for jimei, please explain what any of your posting has to do with anything on this forum? and I do hope no one has clicked on any of the links as you may end up with something nasty attacking your computer. It has been reported.
Brian
Thought it was but was not sure , as is that the only B-26 in Europe? and dont they own the p-51 Old Crow which is in your shots , Oh yeah I see its a B-17 now :o:o:o is there much head space or is it not good for a tall person in a B-17?
James
Fantastic shots there brian like the Sally b & Rain shot and the after match of the rain shots aswel 😎 that B26 is that the one from Sweden? and the DC-3 you are in who’s is it?
Regards
James
Thats is a nice shot 😎 Shame Sally B cant fly other wise that would be fantastic 3 b17’s in the air:D
James
I’m probably wrong, but I always thought the CWH Lanc was a private aircraft…
But is it different in cost to operated over here like its the same as a 737 due to EU law cr*p but In canadian I no its not cheap but its not the same as the 737 law over here in europe?
James
ZRX61.
The whole essence of Legends is the piston engined warbird is it not? Not jets, hence no Sabre, Hunter, T33 etc., etc., etc. I thought B17’s were piston engined warbirds but perhaps I, and the organisers of Legends have got it wrong?

Is that Why the BBMF Lancaster is not going but the DAK instead? You saying that they had a F15 at Legends last year.
James
That has to be one of there best songs Aces High 😎 they should do that at one of them Flying proms that happen with aload of spitfires :D, though I dont think Bruce Dickinson is as good at live shows as he was.
James
Will the F-22 go to farnborough next week instead? I dont think this is Health and Safety at all there already been some flood out events already this year but still carry on.
Maybe the RAF boys dont wanna get muddy 😀
James
MJ627 (or did it move? )
In any case, I’m pretty sure even a fully-loaded Spitfire IX can get off in less runway than a lightly-loaded Lanc!
Yeah thats the one MJ627 my favorite Spitfire that I wish I owned 😀
I think the Panton Brothers might just object to handing over Just Jane to the BBMF. perhaps it might be worth you looking into the story of why they actually acquired Just Jane and its meaning to them as a family.
Regards,
kev35
I have to look it up as I dont know the history of Just Jane and the Panton Family.
James
This would be fantastic news hope its true though as said before I see it when it happenes but two Lancs in are skies :cool::p
But who knows we have a vulcan so why not another lanc tho would there be any point the BBMF are designed to make people reflect on the past and with another lanc it looses that.
Maybe the BBMF could have Just Jane well they have 5 spitfires two hurricaines whats the harm in having two lancasters .
I’am not sure , she sat at Scampton for a long time in all weathers this must have taken its toll ……….. that said it would be great to see her in the air, i’ve never seen how much runway is left at East Kirkby could she operate from there? knowing the brothers i would think that is what they would want
Dont a two seater spitfire in RCAF colours fly from East Kirkby?
