    Moroccan, Pakistani or Egyptian Block 52s were procured well after UAE got their Block 60 Vipers but that does not mean they are more advanced than F-16E/F.

    They also not get more powerful engine. You have to look at Turkish and Israelis F-16 they still not interested in more powerful engine and AESA radar. It mean the tiny AESA does not provide that big difference. Or do you think only UAE can afford AESA?

    no, F-15 engine is more powerful, but Mig-31 engine have low pressure ratio so more suitable for high speed, it’s intake help too

    F-15 engine at most 29000lbs. MIG-31 engine atleast 40k lbs class. It’s not 1970s era power.

    upgrade tend to make airframe heavier because of extra equipment , and even if it make airframe lighter, you wont get any more speed from that, weight is hardly a factor that limit aircraft speed

    Unless you want to make it strike fighter that can lift 10 tons under wings with 16000 hours airframe life. There is no reason it will gain any weight. But big reduction coming. It is suitable for its intended role.

    Fleet of Su-24 still there.

    Those not carry enough bombs to pick spread out individual targets in desert and not have enough loitering time like B-1. The war has shifted from high altitude to low altitude and smaller individual targets.

    According to statement of the current head of RuAF Bondarev that he made at paliament hearings about further MIG-31 fate in April 2013, currently, speed of MIG-31 is limited to Mach 1,5 due to age and state of its canopy glass.

    I am sure they can use glass from Su-35 to sustain speed of atleast mach 2.35. the point is MIG-31 is ready from engine and internal fuel capacity for sustain high speed.

    Which shouldn’t be surprising since the MiG-31 carries nearly 3 times the internal fuel of a non CFT F-15.

    MIG-31 engines are much more powerfull than F-15C engines. The size of radar is much bigger. i presume the upgrades to MIG-31BM would have lighten the airframe for much higher speed and range.

    News report says the range is increased to 1.5 times compared to Mig-29 , How much does it translate to in terms of Radius and Weapons Load ?

    MIG-29 is 1500km and MIG-29K is 2000km. This suppose to be lighter than MIG-29K. i will estimate range about 2400km.

    UAE Mirages are far more advanced.

    why would they be advanced as the upgrade was done 10 years ago and signup almost 20 years ago. French very slow to implment old technology.

    composite and lighter electronics will held the weight constant. see the top speed is not changed despite much bigger aircraft and cockpit.

    Some reports suggest that russian retreat could be linked with discrepancies with Iran on Assad’s future (being the Iranian’s deicided to keep him at all cost). According to this, the Russians would keep only what they need to defend their own bases, thus largely dissengaging from the actual ongoing war. Iran is apparently expected to step in. I think as of now it’s almost imposible to make any predictions. Hope things cold down and the regime, kurds and moderates find a way to get along and get ride of all that radical islamic scum. Doesn’t seem easy though.

    Russia already did the heavy lifting. Now Iran should step in as they got the money and is increasing energy production.
    I think it’s Arab money that played part to slow down the bombing.

    It is too soon to say but if Saudi/Tuki still not invade it will discredit there narrative of helping Syrians. They can’t fight with reduce Russian presence nor they have ability to persuade others .

    It’s is far more profitable to invade Ukraine than Turkey. Once German see ukranians among themselves they will immediately offer billions to Russia . Turkey is spent force that even Arabs not trust with military.
