Maybe it`s time Russia stops the BS with building drones for Arctic/Mars etc and concentrate on building a Reaper equivalent ?

Those RC “grade” UAVs like Orlan are a slap on Russsia defence indusry sector

bigger also unreliable and noisy. fly them in pairs and if one fall down and 2nd one can still provide information and possible airstrike for those who are coming after it.

Are you talking about a partition of Syria?

I´ve read that someone proposed to create alwaite, sunni, kurdish, cristhian and druze states.

But the biggest question would be: Who gets the Golan Heights? Israel of course. That would be hard to sell in the arab world. Someone would have to take the blame for it and would be a pariah in the region.

Biggest question is not Golan. it is Hatay province Turkey that was part of Syria and French gave it to Turkey. Russia will enable Iran to be more richer than Saudi so it can dismantle all this Arab-Turk nonsense. You will see the up coming battles in Northern Syria that is starting point.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatay_Province
In Ottoman times, Hatay was part of the Vilayet of Aleppo in Ottoman Syria. After World War I, Hatay (then known as Alexandretta) became part of the French Mandate of Syria.

American approach from begining was wrong Gen Patereus distrbuted arms in Anbar called it awakening due to surge. bogus victory.

The Curious Case of Nawaf Obaid and Prince Turki
On November 29, 2006, The Washington Post published a shocking op-ed column signed by him, titled “Stepping Into Iraq.” Therein, Obaid warned, in aggressive language, that “massive Saudi intervention” would support Sunni Arab terrorists if the U.S.-led coalition were to leave Iraq abruptly. Further, according to the arrogant Obaid, “it would be impossible to ensure that Saudi-funded militias wouldn’t attack U.S. troops

Well, at least we don’t know who is going to win the next presidential election in the US in 2016 – unlike the next presidential elections in Russia and Syria.

does it even matter who US next president. read Obama statements regarding his bid for Chicago olympics and gun violence.

So basically no meaningful quantities until sometime well after 2020.

What is meaningful quantity for T-50 consider it’s role and its ability of unrivaled range and sensor reach.

so you need production in thousands before it become reliable. how India bought those C-17 or trying to buy A330MRT/ A330AEW.
by time India start building there own. More powerfull Russian engine will be available. organizing production in India is atleast decade away.

Promising engine VC-800B — the only project power plant is being developed now a “clean slate.” How’s this project?
    — Promote the project in Russia is hampered by lack of real helicopter on which the VC-800B engine could be installed. Traditionally in Russia are the objects in the class take-off weight of 10-12 tons Helicopters mass 4 — 5 m for which designed and VK-800V, and have remained on paper. In view of the characteristics of the engine competitive on the western and eastern markets, where the spread helicopters of this class, but these markets are fairly rigidly reserved. However, as we are confident in the prospects of the project, now VC-800B engine is used in the framework of the program of establishing the planned helicopter engine for developing key technologies in various fields, such as thermodynamics, gas dynamics, and materials science. A number of promising technologies will be implemented in the final version of the engine, which is scheduled for certification in 2016

    Interesting numbers. Thanks for posting.

    Three quick observations:

In the early days of the campaign, the Russian aircraft were averaging fewer than one sortie per day. More recently, they are averaging well over two sorties per day. I wonder how long they can keep up that pace.

In the early days of tne campaign, the sortie-to-target ratio was roughly 3:2. But more recently, it has gotten close to 1:1. Is that a sign of better accuracy in the airstrikes? Or less hardened targets? I suspect it is both.

And finally, it is interesting to note that no sorties were reported on the day of the cruise missles strikes. If that is right, maybe it really was a show of force more than anything else.

total sorties are 669. last week avg is 60 per day. I think that Cruise strikes news overshadows sorties reporting on that day.

You know that you can bring it down without a kinetic kill. Force him to fly through your wake and if the FCS are not robust enough it will spin down the ground (what seems to be the case here).

it just show you cant take Turkey statements seriously. even simple thing like UAV crash it can’y make a proper statement.
