The 7th sub is being laid down in December of this year. The 8th has been pushed back till 2016. Suffice it to say, 8 boats will not be ready by 2020, though that much was obvious to anyone with a working brain for years now.

and on other hand if Germany try to spend 10% of GDP on military. it will still be 4th graded power as all the best labor will be redirected from producing Autos to building tanks/MLRS/TBM/fighters/subs at much lower quantity due to complexities and lack of export. and on top of that it will need big manpower to operate it that will further decrease its productive GDP.

I am not even calculating the whole EU going into depression & currency collapse if Germany redirected its industry to military because there will be less to buy from Czech/Poland/France/Italy etc.

I agree with most here that the RVV-BD doesn’t really suit the MiG-35’s role and wont do much good if they can’t get enough power out of the AESA radar.

Then again, Russian love to integrate all types of weapons on their aircraft. Probably to increase their export potential and to be able to preform roles in extreme circumstances when other aircraft aren’t available. So I wouldn’t put it pass them.

This tiny new derby has range exceeding 100km which is 80% of Meteor. so its presume Gripen/Rafale class fighters will be using 150km range missiles. bigger MIG-35 need 300km range AAM missile.

Long way from that to ‘AESA technology can nullify stealth’. I’ll believe it for a fact, when the folks at Sukhoi/KnAAPO and Chengdu/Shenyang come to that realization and abandon their projects in favour of the innovations being proposed here.

you do realize F-35 is limited by single engine thrust. It may well be dealing with MIG-31BM with twice its thrust and bigger radar that enable it to lock on more stealthier cruise missiles at much lower altitude. Plus Russia will spend more on tactical BM and ground troops than on stealth fighter. It seems stealth fighter role in fight inside EU is very low. it is not important.

PAK-FA isnt soaking funding at all. it is very low cost effort.

Whoever said that was either drunk or just ignorant. AESA is progression from PESA allowing for better jamming resistance and better multi-functionality (incl. LPI potential & EW applications). What it is NOT, is a anti-stealth silver bullet. As for optical sensors, their range while scanning (large FoV) is very limited.

PESA by itself is multifuctional. AESA give more reliability and increase in range. not that it matter for large aircraft. bottom line is none of your predictions are going to come true.

That’s absurd. The F-35 will dominate any member of the Su-27 family including the Su-35S. How well its likely to fare against the PAK FA is a debatable issue (but not pertinent to this thread).
