You cant have it both ways, You cant continue to defer your defense to others and Then cry about sovereignty.
If Europe isnt ready to become the 51st state, then they must take controll of there own defense and destiny.
I want to talk a congressman into making Nato members pay a High tribute to the U.S. for defense.
EU is simply not capable of paying tribute to US. Most americans buy gasoline powered Trucks/SUV while EU buys small diesel. the same is weopon systems. F-35 is heavier than all EU made planes.
It simply not profitable to export from US to EU due to Industrial mismatch.
On top of that US is controlling from outside to discredit independent decision regarding military power.

And you come to this conclusion how? I’ll trust Finnish air forces expertise’s more than to a guy who is flying imaginary (cheap to boot) drones what are capable to do air fighting.
Finnish air force expertize?. what they know about TVC equiped supercruise fighter in combat as i doubt they have flown F-22. do you have any industry left ?
+1
war industry is mostly non-productive, like insurance
it’s how the US broke the USSR, forcing it to spend itself to death in a weapons race
China is doing the same now, showing relatively low cost fancy experimental stealth aircraft that push the US into further investing in an overpriced, underperforming short ranged F-35 lemon of an aircraft
it’s investing in prop aircraft while everyone else is going for jetsthe Swiss people have the right idea, sticking to their outdated F-5s and F-18s
they’re not going to war, and are protected by allied Rafales and Eurofighters on all sides
who’s going to invade them, Lichtenstein?
better use that $3.5 billion for something usefulRussia will not openly invade Finland, because that would be war with the US and EU
if they do something it’ll be a Crimea/Donetsk like seperatist movement “with no Russian soldiers on the ground”, just as there were “no Allied soldiers on the ground” in Libya or Syriaif this is a fact, UCAVs become even more interesting, because then we’re talking COIN operations
then UCAVs offer low cost, long range stealthy armed recon
Afghanistan and Ukraine have shown again and again that high performance jets are not what you need in such situation, because they’re ineffecient, ineffective and/or fat targets
I am showing that person logic. Israel use airstrikes, Saudi use airstrikes, Nato against Libya and US led coalition use airstrikes. and some how Russia attack an airport without using airstrikes when Ukranain airforce is non existent.
Russians assaulted Donetsk airport for months despite the fact that is was defended only by lightly armed volunteers and there are pictures of Russian “little green men” who look quite dead… I mean leg’s being in different places than their torsos.
They didnot assulted. otherwise you will be seeing Su-34 strikes. First order of battle is always airstrikes and cruise missiles for months.
This is excuse we always hear when Russian fighters are used in war and it fails. I wonder what excuses we hear when F-35 shoots down T-50 for the first time?
Try this with Ruaf is how much that fighters last. This MIG-21 era has passed.
Typical “Russia strong” response. Russia had to sacrifice hundreds of KIA’s in Ukraine to take small airport from poorly armed Ukrainian volunteers and people should be awed by that? So called Finns?
sacrificied hundreds. they took Crimea without a single shot. and i presume they have very high level of intelligence and efficiency. you must be counting civillians.
Ukraine has some residual strenght left from soviet times that will decompose with time.
Anyhow, that’s a lot of praise for country what’s fighters have traditionally been target practice for western fighters.
Those were soviet fighters put together from substandards parts acorss the republics, manned by skill and tactic deficient crew.
Russian weopon systems are very highly regarded in export market and each country in Middleast independent bargain for it and will wait in line.
What would be the point? It lacks a big enough radar to fully exploit the range of that expensive missile and the mission to do so. MiG-29M/M2 is not an interceptor.
the same company AESA radar on Ka-27K upgrades have 250km range. I dont see any problem with range.
http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/threads/russian-aesa-radar-for-future-mig-29s-and-attack-helicopters.24667/
The radar had a detection range of 250 km while the Indian tender specified only 130 km, he said adding that his was a true multimode radar, with assorted mapping and target recognition capabilities.
Because they aren’t getting it, that’s why.. What has Kh-31PD to do with RVV-BD is beyond me.
they announced to you they are not getting?. newer MIG-29K/MIG-35 is foremost strike plane getting all the longest range weopons. so why you think it will not get long range AAM?
It doesn’t make sense for Russia to stiffen-up its border with Finland. Didn’t they get the hint from the last war they had? What would Russia have to gain from a tense situation with Helsinki. Putin may be bold, but he is not stupid. He is going to leave the Finns alone. Back when Russia was in the Soviet Union, and was much more powerful, they didn’t mess around there. The Russians used to show off their latest military aircraft in Finland (1978, 1986). It was in Finland, the West got their first real glimpse of the MiG-29. Why would Russia opt to demonstrate and market theirs goods to a nation that they are ready to go war against? Why would the Russians make waves now, when their armed forces are at a low in capability? The majority of Russian AF aircraft are old an in poor shape from years of on-again, off-again maintenance and support. A few examples of some later types like the Su-30/34/35 does not equate to an overall enhanced force. If things keep up their pace, in ten years the Russian AF could pose a significant threat to its neighbors, but I’ll put my money on a Finn in an F-18 over a Russian in an Su-27.
There is alot to gain from having tense situation with Finland. It may invite US to area. The more US military is spread around at places. The bigger is US military budget and bigger budget need more dollar printing. thats very good for Russia commodities and in future even water export will be commodity.
Soviet Union was not powerfull than Russia. SU has big numbers but much lower paid, trained and short range, short life systems. that make war very expensive.
Russia military production is much higher quality and increasing at much higher pace than any one else.

Russia to triple production of missiles for air and missile defense in 2015 — source
infact from Arctic to all the way to Middleast Russia airdefence system will dot the planet. with increase in size and upgrades in Ruaf at much higher rate and much more in range capability. it will be very easy to fight two simultneous war in EU and Middleast. This so called Finns will not last even few hours even today let alone in future date. and there there not few Flankers. There are 60 Su-34 now with 50% more payload than Flanker.
Such assumptions don’t hold any value for me.. I believe it when it’s announced that the MiG-29K/35 will get it. There are no indication of anything like that happening.
MIG-29K and MIG-35 getting Kh-31PD so what makes you think it will not get long range AAM?
http://eng.ktrv.ru/production_eng/323/511/565/
AESA radar has not even been flown on the JF-17 yet, and you think it will enter service in 2017?
Seriously?
If J-10b has AESA radar than scaled down JF-17 AESA may not be far away. Chinese have spent couple of years on J-10b.
they have big funding.

The Chinese are no longer interested only in Communication and Semiconductors, they are becoming increasingly interested in Internet and Software. As stated above, the Chinese are interested in attaining new technologies and global access, both of which are available from Israeli companies
The article does not say all fighter planes, it says other planes. I can imagine Su-35S carrying the missile one day, but a MiG-35 with RVV-BD is currently in realms of pure fantasy..
why you are imagining Su-35? when MIG-29K is now primary fighter for both RuaN and Indian navy. MIG platform will get all the latest and longest range weopons. infact the version of S-300 selling to Iran is closer in range to S-400 so they can control Irak airspace.
so it is assumed that any new built MIG-29 exported will get longest range weopons.
You got it pretty much mixed up.
1) I am not aware of any anti-radiation missile with 300km range. Kh-31 is a ~100km range missile. The practical range of Kh-35 is roughly 130-150km..
2) RVV-BD (ex-R-37M) is limited to MiG-31/31BM and maybe Su-35S. Definitely not planned for MiG-29M/MiG-35
i didnot mixed up. RVV-BD is for all the fighter planes

Irak is very wealth country of 12m people controlling as much as oil as 30m Saudi. it can afford customize variant. Infact it will not need to burn oil to produce electricity or water unlike saudi.
superior training and quick induction with unlimited supply of weopons.
http://in.rbth.com/economics/2014/09/08/using_a_flight_simulator_with_the_russian_air_force_38133.html
he head of the mathematical and test bed simulation at the MiG aircraft corporation, Vladimir Ivanov, says that flight simulators is one of the most important areas of his company’s work.“These days, not a single batch of MiG-29 fighters is delivered without supplying the customer with special training sessions and simulators,” Ivanov says. “Our knowhow is the use of 3D technologies in flight visualization.
Flight simulation is not a new area for Russian aircraft manufacturers. However, it is only now, thanks to modern software, various hydraulic systems, and 3D visualization of the environment, that simulators have been capable to truly imitate a real flight and its conditions.
The F-16 can theoretically come with equally advanced weaponry.. except it’s obviously not meant for Iraq.. I would not want to go as far as to speculate between F-16 and MiG-29M or MiG-29M and Typhoon, though.. What is certain is that Iraq needs a machine that is
1) enough sophisticated to provide solid deterrence against all possible odds
2) delivered quickly
3) delivered with reasonable weaponry (ARH AAMs, AShMs, PGMs..)
4) costs $60mil a pop, not $160mil
MIG-29M has much larger nose and IRST. it can see further ,fly higher and faster giving more range to weopons. 5 wet stations.
F-16 is very limited plane only 2600kg internal fuel capacity and certainly does not come up with 300km antiship/anti radiation missile. there is also 200km RVV-BD to deal with AWACS and tankers as Saudi i have i think ordered Meteor.
Yes and no..
– MiG-29M2 would come with R-77s and whatever stuff one desires
– MiG-29M2 would most likely have already arrived and entered service
– MiG-29M2 would not come at $165mil a piecehttp://nation.time.com/2011/09/28/sticker-shock-iraqi-f-16s-165-million-each/
How’s that not about military aviation, BTW? We aren’t discussing motor bikes here, are we?
MIG-29M is far superior high altudie and high speed performance which is needed to deal with F-15 and Typhoon. it also come with long range antiship and anti radiation missile just in case Saudis want to do sea embargo.
Fedaykin. You really do need to reread our replies.
he cant. i have boxed him it a corner. he made silly claims of Iraq buying lot of European weopons. since there are absence of EU systems now he is forced to defend F-16 that are years late and practically useless. They are so useles that Iraq is no longer pursuing further F-16.
destruciton of ISIS means war between Iran and Arab hence higher oil prices and much higher Russia weopon production.
http://english.pravda.ru/world/asia/08-06-2015/130914-iran_isis_middle_east_iraq_syria-0/
If Iran mobilizes its army and moves it to Iraq and Syria, then ISIS will be destroyed. This would be the case of an open war with Arabian countries, though. If it happens, the Saudis will not sit on their hands, and the USA will interfere –
