MIG-35 top speed now 2700km/hr. i will not surprized domestic verision above 3000km/hr.

A properly designed AESA system is not overweight so are you saying that is what’s keeping it out of the Mig-29?
All western fighters have gained weight despite using composite materials and practically no engine upgrades. Ruaf is not in rush to introduce mediocre AESA as they are working on 400km+ BVR missile and I presume next generation of standoff missile will hit targets at much greater distance. so much radar advancement is needed that it can differentiate dummy and real airdefence systems and fighters right on runway. For small fighter aesa incremental upgrade in radar performance is worthless. MIG29 is small relative to Flanker.
I highly doubt anything will come out of this fighter project. EU simply can’t develop military product on 5G scale. and in less than 5 years very different kind of liabilities are coming.
Since radar remains the primary sensor on an aircraft, it most certainly is relevant to the discussion.
The primary sensor of fighter is communication and netcentric capability with ground command and control network. Pay attention to Middleastern wars. It’s the multibillion dollar airbases that most important . see Qatar example airbase can’t be moved despite how much Trump allies in Saudi and UAE wish.
AESA radar can’t change the aerodynamic performance of both fighter and weopns . Overweight AESA radar may decrease fighter range and performance.
It is not budget thing as far as Ruaf is concerned. They are getting TVC Su-30SM .try implement TVC in western fighter and see what happens to cost. plus the EW Pods that are bigger EA-18G. MIG29M2/MIG-35 designed ground up to be faster, fly higher and 50% further upto 3500km range with 3ET. this the most complex aerodynamic change. radar is very cheap part.
yup with under power engines ,small nose and overworked airframes you are going to produce competitive fighter to MIG29 which is second to none in combat performance. Russian engines are always superior and less maintaince intensive . Look at sortie rates of Su-24/Su-25.
Those aircrafts are not with weak engines and small nose like old F16

If software was able to overcome the benefits of 3 generations of AESAs then they would never have invented AESA
yup Israel is installing those AESA radars on hundreds of F-16 despite among first to put AESA on AWACS. Even French are upgrading M2K with AESA radar. India also following them with AESA upgrades to M2K. did i miss Sweden and its Meteor qualification without AESA radar on Gripen. and it is nothing compared to Ruaf MIG-29SMT with latest radar and IRST.

first understand what is happening in practical world. look all those F-18/F-15/B-1/B-52/A-10 flying around in Middleastern wars.
F-16 is consider small size like Gripen. Those MSA radars continously upgraded. or do you think they not updating software.
smaller AESA radars not much effective untill this point whether it is in fighter or AWACS. look at the definition of next generation fighter. MIG always had the correct approach to fighters. I have more confidence in MIG29SMT than anything else in that category.

I am sure with Russian weopons and intelligence Turkey willl be more effective power. i think Turkey has some good insights into Western systems either through itself or Qatar that Russia seem so interested in cooperating with it.
That Su-30MKM outperfirmed what ever was offered for F-18E for RMAF in 2002. I am sure the high power ZHUK outperform the single engine fighter AESA.
I’ve see several presentations that say FA-50 can mount the AMRAAM.
Also, I’m not sure of the AESA on the FA-50 (if it can be tailored to the bid), but RACR/SABR are certainly better than Zhuk-ME.
