did you read carefully what I wrote. MIG29 need small tweaks as fundamental of design was sound from begining. It’s even light weight with TVC. MIG-29OVT smoke rarely even 15 years ago. MIG35 will outperform everything in its category.
Russia does not need that kind of experience. just look at MIG35 and compare it with F16/F18 and see who can fly high and fast . with full multifuctional from naval to rough field performance and IRST from beginning.
what radar follow between 10 to 30. flight performance improved. indicating more engine power.

Putin said the new multi-purpose MiG-35 fighter has improved flight performance, and it is equipped with the most modern weapons and able to follow between 10 to 30 targets simultaneously
so poorly trained commie pilots and weopon systems developed under multicultural soviet system more challenging than fighting Russia?. I have bridge to sell you. hint of Iskander and Yakhont will give you the clue of stricking airdefence and airfields.
Su-35 has flown ground attack roles like Su-30SM has in Syria, so absolutely no difference there as far as multirole capability is concerned for the VKS.
The only advantage the SM has is two seats, and naturally the 35S is an air-superiority platform in first place.
Only the Su-34 flew with smart munitions and AAMs in Syria to date.In VKS service only the Su-35 has carried R-77 in line units to date, by your logic, it is a more mature platform than SU-30SM? That would be silly….
And we already had system problems on the Su-35, entire batches had to go back to Knaaz to be reworked before being re-accepted. We are past that now, so where are you getting these mythical Irbis problems? The system has been in development for many years now, where is the proof it is not a mature product?
MiG-35 does not have the same technologies that the Su-35S already has, serially flying. Irbis is light years ahead of Zhuk-M. It remains to be seen if Zhuk-AE can close the gap.
It has uprated engines MiG-35 does not yet. Wing AESA arrays, TVC, internal + podded jamming and defensive suit of a scale not seen on the MiG…..
All that without tacking on CFTs and ungodly numbers of protrusions, because the Flanker is from the outset a capable AND huge airframe.
MIG35 serial production start 2019 so don’t speculate what inside which I am sure more advanced than SU35.
Yeah, was about to post. With what money exactly i wonder? If anything, should have just skipped MiG-35 altogether.
With same money every other weopn is being developed
But waste 20 years in developing 5G light fighter where the light and 5G word itself is oxymoron.
things moving as I predicted. in Middleast only force is respected.

LONDON, Jan 26 (KUNA) — Britain may be compelled to make drastic change in its approach toward resolving the Syrian crisis, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said.
Can you back up any of that with one single document, quote, book, article, whatever?
The weight gains of the SU-35 over their predecessors are described in severall articles and its the first time that i´ve saw anyone claiming that the BARS has a “much heavier array”, almost every one and its dogs are convinced that the IRBIS is a direct development of the BARS, actually i´ve seen severall articles stating that the actual antena was retained from its predecessor…
A few years ago good old Kopp was convinced of it.http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-Flanker-Radars.html#mozTocId773196
there are never any official article about weight gain in Su-35. Irbis is not a development of Bars.
The threat matrix for the Raptor was not today´s Russia or China, it was the bleeding Fulda Gap in the 90´s/2000´s manned by what it was perceived has a full Soviet tatical aviation army backed by several Eastern European Air Forces. It was a vastly more dangerous place than anything any OPFOR can field today, with MAYBE a single exception, the Taiwan straight´s with China going full “tilt”, and even then…
If anyone from today´s went back to 1989, headed straight to the ATF program headquarters and told the chaps there that “in 2017 the worst opfor that anyone can field is improved versions of the Flanker/Foxhound coupled with the S-300PMU-3 AKA “S-400” would have been met with disbelief
Russia has very low opinion of European and east European forces in particular. I guess it was formed from Putin times in east germany and his connection to Soviet commanders in advance war.
Wastn I the biggest supporter of MIG35 project. MIG35 will outperform all its competitors in kinematics and altitude/Sensors. These sensors/altitude are surely needed as Su24/Su25 cant direct ground and naval forces.

First-Rate MiG-35 Multirole Jetfighter to Join Russia’s Fleet
Serial purchases of the MiG-35 multirole fighter under the state arms procurement program will begin in 2019, President of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Boris Slyusar said Thursday. He added that a presentation of the MiG-35 for potential foreign buyers will be held on January 27
Is it IL-112 or 114.
http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/53762
By this time, we will have drafted a plan for synchronising the production of the new craft: the MS-21, the Il-114, a short-haul passenger plane seating 64 passengers, and the Il-96–400, an extended long-haul aircraft. We will synchronise their production with plans to take out of operation old and foreign aircraft.
That Green zone was Joke with over expensive contractor support and still 80% of Iraki were supporting US. Wasn’t it Nour Maliki (Iranian puppet) standing next to Bush when that shoe was thrown at him. there was nothing cheap about that. infact that kind of war if US start now it will cost 10 times more.
real Coin wars were when Soviet fought in Afghanistan or Russia now fighting in Syria. to break the logistics chain of rebellion only big bombs and big bases works.
Several reasons:
1. Most WOT (War on Terror) ops can be handled by COIN-style airframes
2. It’s much cheaper to operate than any jet or attack helicopter
3. It has the speed to escort V-22s
4. It can operate off of LHDs
5. It’s more versatile than any other COIN aircraft
6. They can operate close to the action so more missions per day with a higher loiter time.
7. Since we’re talking COIN, the weapons are smaller & easier to transport (50 cal, 30mm, 2.75 APKWS rockets, 5-inch LZuni, Hellfires).
8. Longer ranged, quieter, and faster than an ApacheThere is a reason that the Marines used them for so long and why SOCOM was testing them out again (OV-10G+).
I’m not saying reduce the F-35 buy, just supplement it.
yeah you can use LHDs in Afgfhanistan. some wars can be at high altitude and mountains
the cheaper to operate is yet to be determined when every thing is taken into consideration. the close to action is joke. airbases need be properly protected with layers of security both in manpower and systems. fighters need to escort big transport planes. fighters needed to be in air incase fighter or chopper goes down than crew can be protected from insurgents. It was the daily use of bunker busting bombs from September in Aleepo that force them to surrender. No quantity of light fighters or UCAV can achieve that.
Speaking of which, here’s a thought to help Boeing, provide a pivot to ISIS (or terrorism in general), and reduce costs in the process.
Buy the OV-10X from Boeing.
Take their OV-10X proposal and update it with the 4-bladed prop of the OV-10G+ which should get their “normal service ceiling” above the 30,000ft level.
With the advent of cheap PGMs like APKWS and guided cannon shells, it’s a no brainier. You can even slap on DIRCM pods for high threat situations.
how are you going to reduce cost by buying OV-10X? war on terror is vast playing field . that need gigantic airconditioned airbases, big supply chain of variety of bombs, missiles, bullets, fuel spare parts, self generation of electricity incase of local revolts.
Only aircraft that can go fast to the battlefield, longer range and loitering times, flexibility in different kind of weopons including bunker bustings bombs, good sensors and communication system and highly reliable for multiple sorties per day. plus ability to fly back of home bases for overhauling without putting them inside An124/C17.
They already have 2, 8 are in LRIP10 (delivery in FY2018) with the other 4 are in LRIP11 (FY2019 delivery).
it means there is nothing in 2020 and beyond.
