– dogfighting: again UCAVs do it better and cheaper, not to mention lasers make any WVR combat instant suicide
how UCAV can do dog fight?. do they have CFT or big fuel tanks to go fast and high into battle field.
– ground attack: UCAVs = cheaper and better, and advanced ground defences like smart optical missiles (they’ll keep coming until they hit your, explode or run out of fuel, and are immune to stealth or active jamming), lasers (that’ll shoot down any aircraft WVR or any ordnance you might drop at them) and oh railguns ($25,000 per shot at 250 km range that comes in at Mach 5, start dodging)
for ground attack UCAVs need wide flexibility of weopons from bunker/tunnel busting bombs to anti-ship/anti radiation at extreme ranges, big self protection suits. when platform does not have flexibility for weopons/sensors/self protection its not cheap. UCAV are very un reliable for high sorties generation and fast entry/exit from battlefield. UCAVs are for slow motion war against small individual targets that have no response even there it is big too big buzzing sound.
sure UCAV controller is an obvious role, but again it’ll be a sitting duck and an expensive, short-ranged human delivery system
and by the time it does get integrated in that role UCAVs won’t need a human controller anymore
you need big numbers of software developers to create this autonomous capability. far better to built autonomous tanks than fighter aircraft.
the other thing is exponential technological evolution, meaning that by the time you have integrated all this new technology into the platform, it’s probably already outdated. not a good thing on such an expensive platform
there is no engine in development in EU that will outperform EJ200 based solutions. so highly unlikely any platform will outperform Eurofighter.
JSRYou are over complicating the issue significantly. There are many examples of nations that take small fleets of aircraft to foreign locations and have no problems generating mission sorties for days/weeks. The RAAF is an excellent example. They deploy 8-10 F/A-18s every year and sometimes twice to Butterworth in Malaysia for Five Power Defence Arrangements exercises. There are no spares or mission equipment held at Butterworth but somehow the RAAF can generate sorties for the two/three weeks of the exercise. They have sufficient comms at a deployed location to receive all the exercise mission information required, just as a deployed in the field squadron of Bee aircraft would.
All the Bee really needs in the field is deployed comms, fuel, ordnance and a very minimal load of spares/consumables. In the Israel context, we are talking about a combat deployment of aircraft to a dispersed location, a location that, given the size of Israel, is probably less than 150km from the parent base or an IAF logistics node.
RAAF visiting Malaysia is like sight seeing tour. Just look at Increlik in Turkey. why there are more than 1500 US people there and generating such small sorties and that airbase is shared with Turks not fully independent facility. RAAF simply not have budget to operate an independent airbase nor 24/7 sorties/survellence capability.

Large organization like EU stressed out the individuals governments by constant meeting and regulations. Government officials and representatives lose the ability to think for there own country. These Baltic and Poland should look at Turkey history for joining a military alliance. Once Turkey joined NATO it’s problems with Kurds and Arabs multiplied. These East EU joined a military alliance that will be more burden.

That previous efforts of France/Germany were at time when they were relatively riched and Turkey was not supported by Middleast like it is now. Germany/Italy/France itself will accept mass migration depending upon how much Middleast countries want to squeeze them. Once on EU passport is threat by itself.
