Sorry yes I think that is all from me.

Basher, sorry I didn’t see your post…..thankfully you’ve cottoned on!

Murray ran away with the first set…..Nishikori has got his mojo back and the second set is close!

Djokovic got his third walkover of the US Open after Tsonga retired hurt….he will be fresh but lack match fitness….Andy is looking in fine fettle but

once in the semis anything could happen…..

Just a reminder to everyone: please don’t feed the troll who is pumping out his nonsense and re-inventing history to fit in with his narrative….his

nonsense is interspersed with graphs with no relevance and not proving anything but are designed to show he knows stuff :D…..classic trolling.

As Wilhelm has said this troll has multiple identities: JustJames, PeterParker to name a few 😀 ….bugs out and changes identity when called out….

Basher, this chap does pure trolling and like winding people like you up ;- ) …..he does not care if you were there or what facts you show

him….that’s kinda of the point: no facts, or rather twist them and put a completely wild spin on them….it’s like talking to the wall!

Other trolls, like SigmaA, could also be more than one person posting using a single troll name so be careful out there!

Why don’t you check out all the proven errors he has made. The US military was not there in force when South Vietnam got invaded. How can you be defeated if you aren’t there?

Sigh….I won’t get drawn in! The US lost the Vietnamese war…..go and waste somebody else’s time who’s got time to refute your nonsense! 😀

You may have been too young to watch the poor people trying to get on the last US helicopter on the roof the US Embassy….and you may not have watched T-55 tanks of the North Vietnamese Army crash through the gates of the Presidential Palace..

….or and watch as the South Vietnamese removed the crest of the South Vietnam government from the microphones and replace it with a neutral ying yang peace symbol in one of the last TV broadcasts by the south…..

….there are plenty of people on this forum that can put you right…..but I would tell them please don’t waste your time….do something useful like watch Andy Murray at the US Open instead:D

    please stop this

You are correct…..everyone knows Vietnam was a strategic defeat for the USA.

A waste of billions of dollars, cost the lives of over 55,000 US servicemen…..total killed in north and south Vietnam around 2 million all for nothing.

Don’t worry about spin he’s putting on and in this post fact world he won’t let the facts get in the way of his trolling.

So which reincarnation is this recent poster?
    Jessmo/JustJames?
The posting/trolling style is almost identical.
Either way, one gets a heavy flavour of myopic F-16.net.

This troll has multiple identities…..Peter Parker was another….pure trolling and bugs out and changes identity when called out….

Similar trolls like SigmaA had dodgy posts and language used was not by someone from the UK…..could also be more than one person posting using a single troll name until found out…

I have too much work on and can’t post much….so good luck and keep fighting the good fight! ; -)

Turks are also being fooled as the pilot who shot down the su-24 was thrown under the bus as well. So really, everyone is lying real hard.

What happened to those who killed Russian pilot, Oleg Peshkov, and his co-pilot when they ejected from their Su-24 in November 2015?

The airmen were shot at while parachuting down after ejection….a big no-no for all aviators.

Video is here http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/moment-syrian-rebels-fire-russian-6891721…warning graphic images.

Alparslan Çelik, a member of the Grey Wolves and the Turkmen Brigades operating in Syria, and he claimed “credit” for this.

He was held briefly before being released with all charges dropped because Celik said the Russian pilot was actually killed by another terrorist group (and not by his!).

Celik was released at the same time Erdogan was saying his “regrets” in Moscow for the planned shoot down of the Russian jet.

It was clearly a set-up operation….the irony is Turkish jets flew over Syria all the time….and Greece on a daily basis ;- )

    Lullabies.
And by the way, BAE is on the TFX.

The UK government has put on hold BAE Systems deal to develop Turkey’s first home-built fighter after last month’s failed coup in order that ministers can assess the ramifications.

Details of BAE’s co-operation with Turkish Aerospace may now not be known until the end of the year.

Posted the full CAG report on C-17 above just a brief news report

IAF’s C-17 Globemaster aircraft underutilised: CAG

“….the federal auditor expressed surprise that not all units had the required material-handling equipment….

For the purpose of loading and unloading, a fork lifter weighing 13 tonnes was always being carried in the aircraft, as other units did not have ground-handling equipment.

This fork lifter occupies 35 per cent of the cargo space leaving limited space for payload.

Due to this space restriction, C-17 aircraft had to undertake more than one sortie on the same day to airlift cargo from same destination, on many occasions,” the report said.

The aircraft is capable of carrying a maximum of 70 tonnes for a range of 4200 km.”

How much would it cost to buy 13 tonne fork lifters and put them with each unit?

….very little compared to the cost of the C-17 and hourly operating cost.

This would save making more than one trip to the same runway because more than a third of the cargo hold is occupied by a 13 tonne fork lift truck.

The costs savings over the years would be tremendous….

    I agree…..the A330 MRTT is a good choice….the KC46 not so much.

It may be a budgetary issue….no money available in this financial year.

Deferring the decision no matter the cost will go up, not falling in production timeslots and damage to the timescale for delivery allows the can to be kicked down the road for another day.

The procurement process needs an overhaul so that the MoD, finance and IAF work in a coherent way to a long term plan and timetable and means logjams don’t need to be resolved by personal intervention of say the PM.

In comparison, to give an idea of the American economies of scale, the budget for just the NGJ for the fleet of a few hundred SH is around $7 billion (perhaps someone can give an up to date amount?)…..similar to the proposed Rafale deal (without the offsets).

While most countries don’t have a $600 billion defence budget, there is something up with the planning and procurement process….the delays only add costs to the acquisition when it is finally made years down the line…..the C-17 fiasco is a good example when further orders were too late after the production line closed after many warnings.

    I know you’ve all been worried….

My shares have recovered their sizeable losses from the days immediately after the vote…and have also posted a healthy gain.
    Life goes on.

7 or 8 out of 10 shares quoted on the FTSE100 are global companies with revenues not in GBP Sterling, but other currencies like dollars & Euros.

After Brexit Sterling has been the worst performing currency of 2016….worse even than the Argentinian Peso and that’s saying something!

So when other currencies do well compared to Sterling the shares in the FTSE 100 rise!

This may seem counter-intuitive but there is a direct correlation between the fall in the value of Sterling and the rise of the FTSE100.

When you look at the FTSE 250 which has more UK companies the picture is not quite so rosy.

The fall in Sterling might help some exports, but we don’t make as much as we did before, so any advantage is relative.

The bigger hurt is the increased cost of imports (food, commodities, raw materials) which are usually quoted in dollars.

The UK is a global player and can to some extent ride some of the downside, but it won’t be easy and we are, and will be, worse off than if had remained.

The thing about trading is usually the main trading partners are your geographical neighbours and half of our trade is with the EU.

For those who voted remain for emotional reasons (blame the EU, immigrants for everything), what are they going to do when their lives don’t

improve as they thought they would?

    You’ve been sold a pup 😉

For those who voted leave because screw London and people doing well, they’ve cut off their nose to spite their face and now we’ll all have to

weather the difficulties as a result.

sigma4, I am curious. Are you actually from the UK?

It’s just that you use phrases and words which are not British.

You know, more like someone who learned English on the internet or from an American.

For someone claiming so much for the new Britain, I think it a question worth asking.

Well spotted MrMalaya! I was wondering as well…..maybe some of the answers are typed by an American! 😀

    ……..a trashcan…If I need to put some sh!t-stained diapers…..

Something is not quite right;-) …..in Britain we don’t say trash…. we say rubbish!

Sigma also uses garbage which is used in America…..we say rubbish!

Also, no one says diapers….that’s in America 😉 …..here we say nappies or nappy!

    Curiouser and curiouser! 😀

…….and is why I contract to an hourly rate because many companies expect people to work 50 hours and get paid for 37……

You are wrong on tax contribution. Yes, it’s positive but simply paying a positive number does not ensure that the cost of public services is covered….

Yeah, I did actually want them to beat Germany. I hate the German team….. There’s a sinister planning to it.

If you have the mentality of someone working fixed hours like a receptionist working 9 to 5……or some who has to work fixed hours that say a factory is open, then you won’t get very far if you are in a senior position or project manager……because then you do what it takes to get the job done including working 50 hours if only getting paid for 37……the project gets delivered or software goes live at a certain date (even if a crappy version 1.00 iteration)…..the company is happy and may offer you a renewed contract at the same or higher daily rate…… each department might have a certain budget for contractors if you just play it by the book they won’t say anything but they’ll know where not to come when they need something done in future.

Just like immigrants who might be paid low wages by farmers to pick their fruit, the farms live to fight another day…..if they make more profit they get taxed more resulting in more tax revenues…..yet when this was pointed out to you, you were happy for the farmers to go to the wall, allowing agriculture to join manufacturing on a downward spiral with less grown in the UK because you think Brexit is good without acknowledging the consequences on these two sectors at least.

Immigrants are young and are economically active……you agree they make a net positive tax contribution yet discount the boost they give to the economy without which we would be in worse trouble than we are now…..there are no queues of local young people to do the type of jobs immigrants do at the lowest lever…..and often don’t have the qualifications to do higher level jobs that say a graduate from Czech can do .

The last bit you wrote about hating Germans is just weird…..if Julian Draxler were to join the greatest living Frenchman (Arsene Wenger) this will contribute to the sum of human happiness!

Sigma you are trolling because you just ignore simple questions and never answer them.

For example, like name one thing you can do now that you couldn’t do before Brexit….or what EU regulation is stopping you progressing in your life or career?

(don’t give me a crap answer like Spitfire did with minor EU regulations on tomatoes because here you can eat whatever sort of tomato you want! 😀

You also are ignoring imports will cost more because of the hit on Sterling and this is raising the cost of living for everyone as well as damaging businesses like our clients that are going to pay dollars at 1.10 or 1.20 instead of at 1.30 to 1.50 dollars to a pound on contracts (denominated in dollars).

VAT is not charged on exports.

Neither is it charged on imports from the EU.

UK companies and EU companies selling to each other don’t charge each other VAT…..both companies swap VAT numbers, provided they are valid VAT numbers within the EU…..result nil VAT charged between two VAT registered companies trading in two different EU countries.

That bit about Angela (SigmaA) using a pen instead of the pencil provided, shows her unwarranted fears…. but perhaps it was only because she has not attended a vote counting; -)

Anyone familiar with the actual process of counting votes in local town halls will know that it is almost impossible for any fixing to take place for the simple reason that representatives from all the local parties (Conservative, Labour, Liberal, UKIP, other parties etc.) are present and observing the count to make sure there is nothing untoward happening.

The people that can be present at the vote, other than the returning officer and staff, include the candidates and guests and candidates’ election agents, counting agents, election commission representatives and accredited observers.

For any fixing to take all these opposing parties would have to be involved in collusion and you can’t see Leave or Remain supporters getting together to collude in a mutually disadvantageous result!

Nigel Farage a month before the vote said if it goes against Leave (when it looked like Remain would shade it) he said we would need a re-run if the vote to Remain was close (like 2%!)….presumably to keep having a vote until he got the right result (for him ;- ). Had it been the other way round and Remain won by 2% the Leave side would been apoplectic! 😀

    For SergeLeBoss:

The video starts off with a Town Hall meeting and on the hustings and tells you everything you need to know about the Leave lot.

The interview from 2:00 to 4:05 is worth watching….the joke around 3:55 about the French is good!:D

Boris Johnson joined Leave to get rid of Dave Cameron so Boris could become Prime Minister before it was too late and he got too old…..Boris, like Gove, was surprised Leave won (polls showed a 2-10% Remain majority)

Gove was sacked by Cameron as minister and saw joining Leave as a chance of revenge on Dave and to get a top job (say as Chancellor to replace George)….that’s one of the reasons he shafted Boris!

Both come out losers……Boris, like Teflon, is damaged only temporarily while Gove’s reputation is shot for good….oh what a web we weave…

A load of tosh has been posted by Sigma4 that I’ve been too busy to refute.

So many numbers Angela…..and yet you cannot see the wood for the trees!

Britain’s manufacturing is about 10% of GDP…..half what it was 20-30 years ago…..yes we make a lot of good things…..but it’s never going to be what it was before….we’re moving towards a knowledge-based economy and we have value-added and financial products to sell to a emerging half a billion Chinese middle class for example…..if you can’t make a profit making things here, then they’ll be made where costs are cheaper.

Plain and simple, that’s it! Yet you made up numbers to fit what you want to believe, but are too arrogant and don’t have enough confidence to admit you got it wrong.

You’ve missed Swerve’s point about who will pick fruit if we can’t get cheap labour from Europe because the youngsters here don’t want to do it…..clearly you have not employed or tried to employ people here because you would know how hard it is to get well trained, motivated people who want it enough and will work hard and turn up to work unlike many youngsters here.

I have a theory why people voted Brexit by a slim margin even though it will hurt the country….a combination of factors that need to be addressed, but one is for example how out of touch many in the Westminster bubble are and their failure to present a good cogent case that everyone can get easily (same with Hilary…..talk human…like Bill…but don’t try too hard because it doesn’t come natural…take a leaf from Teresa May’s statement today about individuals and communities) but I’ll leave that for when I have more time.

How about how tomatoes have to be for me to be able to buy them? Here’s the EU law/rule/directive concerned:

    http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?qid=1467926960331&uri=CELEX:31994R0918

Utterly unnecessary. Puts the price of food up (I and millions of others have to pay extra because of the waste in tomatoes not meeting regulations). Impairs the taste of tomatoes since growers have to pick them when they reach a certain size and if they are not ripe, then turn them red by bathing them in methane… etc etc etc

Want a few hundred/thousand more examples of stupidity imposed on EU citizens? Just look at EU law.

Oh give me a break! How much does a packet of tomatoes cost? 65p? what the size of the UK tomato market in a £3 trillion economy?

I agree with the point you are making and minor things are irksome.

Here what I and many like-minded people do….we deliberately buy misshapen fruit and veg e.g. at Asda http://your.asda.com/news-and-blogs/wonky-fruit-veg-boxes…..there are also restaurants that chose to use wonky, bent and misshapen fruit and veg…..why waste perfectly good food?

Out there in the real world punters like you and me who shop chose the “best looking” and perfectly symmetrical fruit to buy…..that why the supermarkets stock the perfect tomatoes because shoppers won’t buy wonky or bent fruit or veg…..when you grow your own tomatoes they are all shapes and sizes and taste better! ;- )

There are also many apocryphal stories punted around like the EU want to ban “bent” bananas….when the real incentive for business packaging purposes to get as many uniform bits of fruit and veg into a shipping carton.

I take your point about minor rules like this but you have ignored the many beneficial examples I quoted that were not there before and benefit millions.

Politicians are a cynical bunch and it’s a dirty business, involving telling lies and half truths (not your point I would make clear) to rile people and get them angry enough to vote for them and not the other guy……a good example is some of the stories in Yes Prime Minister based on real events and you couldn’t make it up….How about Hacker saving the good old English sausage from the EU who wanted to ban it just to get a favourable puff piece in a tabloid newspaper not too dissimilar to The Sun!
