The PRG route from LPL was one that had been waited for locally for a long while, however as said above, if nobody knows about them then who do they expect to fly on them!
It’ll be interesting to see what they fill the void with – could this be the gap for a Lyon rotation???
Anyway back to topic! great selection Rob. That SP seems to be at Bournmouth quite alot! any reason?
It’s actually kept at BOH for one of the Arabian Princes or alike (Sultan of Qatar seems to spring to mind). It flies regularly, usually to/from LHR where the owner’s journey tends to commence. I suspect it is just cheaper to position it back and forth from BOH than park it at LHR!
WW1 is usually it’s callsign I believe it normally operates under.
Welcome on-board!
Nice! In relation we don’t see much LHR traffic on here – a real appreciation of what heavies do transit our country! Kwality!
Hang on here, BMI can’t be held fault for a power failure. How long did it take for this to be resolved?
Crew discretion is 2 hoursish (discretion remember – upto the crew to use if they can), so once you have your other crew posn to Salt Lake, fly to LAS etc, they prob wouldn’t have the hours to fly to MAN…
Sector time is 10 hours 40mins from MAN with a report (guestimated at 1.5hours prior to departure – 10am local = 0830 local would give a 14 hour duty, on duty at 0830 runs thorough to 2230 local UK, which is 1430 local time. Normal ETA in LAS would be 1240, which gives a whopping 1 hour 50 mins to play with. So lets say hold for 30 mins before flying 363 miles to SLC – Call it 1 hour flying, that means they are almost out of hours before they land (minus discretion). Then we have to fuel etc (diverts = back of the que!)… out of hours for the inbound crew to even get to LAS…
Outbound crew have then to pick the aircraft up from Salt Lake, before this 1455 local departure back to the UK… 13 hours duty on one sector… oh soz, that was SLC-LAS-MAN – 2 sectors = 11.25 hours… see where we are coming from? This is law not because the airline wants to do it!
The airline does have a right to cater for the pax – hotels, meals etc etc, but the ” not very happy people at LAS” i’m sure would rather have a fit, fully rested crew fly them home than one who had bust JAR-OPS criteria!
What may in fact portray badly on the airline in the media may be just what they are adhearing to legally!
Getting there Kidda! Keep going with it!
Nice to see the outcome Paul – despite the whinging about EIN and RYR t’was nice to see a bit of variety came out above!
Sorry If I was a bit off hand, it’s just that I don’t think you can judge if people know anything or not until you have a 1-1 conversation with them.
Flex
No worries!
Well that is all very true; I wouldn’t say that everyone on this thread doesn’t know what they’re on about though. I mean everyone over-exaggerates things/events when it comes to aviation, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t know what they’re on about just cause of it.
Just my 2 cents. Not having a go btw.
Flex
I agree, however sometimes if left without a comment they grow out of perspective, especially from operators with which people already have a bad perspective with (which can be undeserved, occasionally spawning from incidents which have been blown ott!)
As you say, just my tuppence worth!
How long have the West Air ATPs been registered in Luxembourg?
Grey, Westair have two seperate entities operating, West Air Sweden (Swedish Reg), and West Air Europe (Lux reg). The aircraft swap around the fleets occasionally.
Like the shots Dan, esp the Atlantic!
What gives you the right to rubbish what people have said on this thread?
Flex
Not automatically Rubbishing – I am just aware of how out of hand some of the comments can lead to. We regularly had issues brought up by situations brought up for issues like the above from people who were unaware of an aircrafts design features. I’m a spotter too, but sometimes what you can hear on these type of forums can lead to the rediculous – what happens when Joe Public reads some of these stories, and theories, so of which are dreamt up out of thin air – perhaps sometimes some reading up could be done first?
I only had a short stint working on the Classics with Atlanta, and don’t know the 74s as much as I do of other aircraft, but sometimes experience helps when putting 2 and 2 together.
Possable explanation of situation offered by myself, I would quite happily listern to what explanations some of the other posters could add – perhaps we could then DISCUSS!
Many aircraft types have fuel venting points at the end of the wings. It is not unusual on many aircraft types to see venting fuel from full fuel tanks, basically if it overflows on the ground when the aircraft isn’t moving, the fuelling is stopped, no issue, but hows about at the commemement of taxi or take-off, when the fuel is moving? Of course more leaks out. Fuel can also expand in the tanks if sat in heat, and was something commonly seen in places like MRS on our fleet if fuelled early in the morning, prior to a daystop.
Please don’t comment (which can turn into scaremonger) if you aren’t certain about what your talking about!
I think what Mr Lance is trying to say is he made a little bo-bo in Wiping his days shots before them appearing on his laptop’s C-Drive!
Looks very busy at the AVP – Especially like the Biman and Sunair – Do328s are in the 146 good looks league!
The Greenland pic is great – I love barren, untouched landscapes like that!
Good review so far!
In some senses I can agree with both sides of the Story – I’ve flown all over Europe, and Ryanair have taken me to places I would never have though of going on a full service – Torp a good example, for a Ski trip!
As Tom says, Leeds/Bradford, Liverpool, Dublin, Kerry, Blackpool, Stansted, Rome Ciampino, Milan Bergamo, Venice Treviso… the list goes on – all ideal for what I have planned… a few ladsd, touring Europe, the only place I thought was a bit OTT was as mentioned above Torp for the bus ride to town – but we certainly had a great trip.
As said by other forumites, all I am bothered about is what I pay at the end of the day, and If I lived near Stansted I would certainly be booking day trips left, right and centre!
