yea i’ve seen the Lanzarote airport before – thinking of Lanzarote airport… 5 weeks on wednesday and i’l be “just” paying a visit – and as with last year i can virtually assure you i’ll miss the german weds and get the other BY a/c in from EMA and GLA! both B752s if last year was owt to go by!!
Simmer, another point for you is that East Anglia must surely be the place for microlights, and the CFM factory is somewhere in Suffolk (my grandparents live near Ipswich). Just a point your not a Naaaaaaaarwich fan are you?
echo, echooooooo! 😉
aircraft have to conduct electricity or upon alnding due to the friction of the air they would build up so much static that the first person off would be the grounding object – enough sed! – 😉 as sed by Wys a few weeks back!!
well i havent really had a BAD landing but i’ve had some interesting approaches.
For those of you who know Manchester on an approach inbound i a Boeing 747-100 last year we were inbound on a MESI1A STAR. shortly after passing WAL VOR at around 9000ft we entered a thick layer of cumulonimbus clouds and we’re advised that we would be taking up the hold at FL60 at MIRSI. At this point we heard a call from another a/c in front of us (i think it was a BY752) that said he was experiaenceing a fair bit of turbulence in the area – well not to worry eh!
After we left the hold we were vectored a severe patch of Green and Red on the weather radar which turned out to be the Thunderstorm which was in the vacinity of the field. The lightning was spectacular with a flash very close off the right hand wind, but not a strike before the downpour of rain and hail. At this point Jan the Captain put out an announcement stating words to the effect of “Ahhhh theirs nothing to worry about!!!” to the 400+ in th back! a very turbulence apporach folled onto 24R at EGCC wit reports of wind shear on finals – was just somwething differerant and Turbulent – a bit more exciting that a normal smooth desent!
the world gone crazy… and so have public liability insurance costs!
so basically they are were transferred to be worked on by Lufthansa tecknic by the looks of it – cheers A330
