RE: Flight Reports BY616A and BY616B
lol – yea i flew em last year – same flights and all this april for me bak to Lanzarote – hit and miss i suppose like all charter companies and their reputations getting dragged down sometimes by those who fly the bigger mainline carriers and see the huge differances in the setups
RE: I am back from Argentina. Some pics
Dont you just love trying to find pics of exact a/c you were on at the time the photo was taken – or am i just getting really sad!!!
RE: Hooters Owner to buy N.C airline to create “Hooters Air”
presuming these boeing jets are 737 classics? -200s presumably
RE: Concorde Capabilities?
hmmm – wtf is happening in this forum!!! – Kab – just wandering if u say it’s too big to do a barrel roll like an F16 – wouldn’t a scaled up F-16 for example with an identically scalled up thrut ratio be able to do it? – bar the construction materials which at somepoint would snap under the strain
RE: Airbus Versus Boeing
yea i think without new ideas airbus are gonna run wild over boeing – type comminality – a range of a/c from 100 seats thru 500 selling exceptionally well – we’ll have to see!
RE: newbie
Eh up Kane! – we’ll have to get some MSN details as you and i could have quite an iteresting convo. I’m from Yorkshire (Bronte Country if u wanna sound posh, about 10 miles from Bradford if u wanna drag me down!!), but i’m often visiting, and have just come bak today from Ipswich – down the road. I’m only 17 but still remember the days of RAF Bentwaters, Honington, Woodbridge, Alconbury as a kid, a still visit Lakenheath and Mildenhall now and again along with Wattisham and its helos.
Further up u’re way on visits i’ve passed Norwich – used to b real dead!! and North Denes which i used to like as we got so close up to the a/c!
RE: Indian Airlines chooses Airbus
This company has been fairly variable in its orders hasn’t it Kab – as mentioned it has the B744 – maybee just for the range and capacity at the time, but it also has operated A300s 310s and 320s i think
RE: Hapag Lloyd Express Expansion
That’ll be nice to get one of those famed Taxis at Manchy :D:D
RE: Boeing a/c prices
i got those from the Boeing website so are likely to be inflated vs probably an average price
RE: Air Marshalls on U.K Flights
Locked doors – hmmm one thing that needs to be pointed out – what is the number of emergencies in the cockpit (first aid to flight crew) vs attempted take overs? – just a point – i know that they can be unlocked etc but with a high workload and any other probs is this something that could be taken into consideration?
RE: Flightdeck security
yeh they do – simple as in case of emergency, diversion for any reason or any other problems they have the alternates to go to – especially if the airport is one that the company doesn’t fly into regularly, but i understand it is SOP that even based field pilots must check all charts and run over deails before approaches
RE: Something for Sunday
damn – i was gonna try another excuse! 🙁
RE: Something for Sunday
agreed! – was that taken in Palma de Mallorca!
RE: Flightdeck security
again soz to keep harping on but at Air Atlanta i know the ops guys used to go up approx once a month on flights basically to keep the aircrafts “on board library” commonly known as Jeppeson logs updated. On a busy aircraft operating constantly with a small company i hear this is a common procedure as the aircraft are not allowed to go airbourne without them.
For those who don’t know Jepesson logs are like a dictionary of airfield charts, the CC B747s have every licensed airfield in the world onbourd – yes including the little 500m grass strips in outer mongolia! – due to the fact the aircraft can end up anywhere! – i presume the smaller aircarft such as the RJs and Turboprops just have the european sections onbourd as they are unlikely to end up outside of europe and they just update the logs if the aircraft are chartered out??
RE: Something for Sunday
i loved the old Caledonian c/s – especially with the titles on!! – lol
