    Hi there,

I did a work exp at a local Heliport, and the operting company was known as Helijet Aviation. They concentrate on helicopter leasing but they bought APEY from BAF and operted it for a couple of years – i believe it was based at EMA but was regularly seen at LBA as the company operated from a heliport about 400m away

RE: RYAN AIR PLANE CATHCES FIRE ON LANDING

Hmm – i was wrong it was a 737-8AS NG!!

    February 27th, 2002:

    Ryanair 737 evacuated at Stansted
After landing at Stansted Airport today (27th February) the crew on Ryanair flight FR296 from Dublin were notified by the Air Traffic Control tower that they could see smoke coming from one of the two engines. The crew instituted the normal safety procedure, in such circumstances, which involved shutting down the engine, bringing the aircraft to a complete stop and deploying the slides to facilitate a passenger evacuation. Other than two minor foot injuries, all passengers disembarked safely. The aircraft has been removed from service for a full inspection by Ryanair engineers and relevant authorities.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to passengers as a result of this incident.

    Further details

Flight number: FR296 with 117 Passengers onboard and 6 crew
Aircraft Type: Boeing 737-800 Next Generation Series Aircraft
The aircraft landed in London Stansted at 17:30

Seriously i wouldn’t mind a 757 model as i didn’t buy one on the way out to crete, then on the return flight we flew DC-10 and they didn’t have any – then at xmas they wouldn’t sell me one 🙁

What are u loking for as in portable – handheld as opposed to box set? – I own a Yupiteru MVT-3300EU and it has been all over and it’s fine – i think u’d be ok with a rubber duck antenna (which comes as standard on most models) if you are refferring to airport visits
