unfortunatly all my notes are still in LPL but friday was a “great day at the airport”!
TF-FIN B752 Icelandair
G-DEBE BAe 146-300 Flightline
2x GAF C.160 Transalls
PH-HZI B738 Transavia (EZY Cover)
AAC Lynx
plus Thurs had an Air Holland B763 in twice! Excellent
it eneded up with the secondary runway being used for departures and arrivals – good job really as we had G-SSWB stuck out there!
excellent pics, sounds like a good day had by all! Welcome to the forums Bmused

Isn’t LGW rumoured as a new route?
i to be honest i haven’t heard much of it on the rumour lists – even Zaragota seems to be higher than any domestic run (bar Belfast) from what i have heard
I was looking for him last week – i was in the IOM on Sunday Morning and all Day Monday!
however i am pritty sure that on this principle during the summer if a lo-co decided to fly out of say Leeds at 10pm on a Sat evening to Tenerife to arrive there at 2.15am, return at 3.30am to arrive at Leeds for 7.45am there would be a market, as the charters make it work, why not lo-co?
It will be inteeresting to see how Now go on on the Luton – TFS run.
Personally i would like to see Jet2 ofer LBA a second London link, possably to Stansted (1x Daily) or even Gatwick (2x Daily) as a primary domestic route
G-OUZO was the Athens aircraft, but looking at the reg G-VATH – ATH sounds familiar!
just to confuse me more when i’m flight planning! Some of those plogs are gonna have to be changed!
That exact aircraft operated the NCL-LPL Paper run the other nite – great to see her!
i’d say the routes they propose will be more like full time routes such as the rumoured Belfast in the main as this stability will keep the aircraft running all year without seasonal variation, obviously some routes will be generated for the winter season only (such as a posssable ski-run), I may also see a more buisness orientated route, preferably not cologne (as i’m hoping a german carrier may pick up a 1x daily run on here) as i see Leeds being more popular than the likes of Prestwick could be to some of these carriers!
Only time will tell!
Congrats mate – well done, but theres still a hell of a long way to go yet!
Best of luck with it all,

Very good news for Jet2, I have seen a few of there load factors and they seem to be doing very well on certain services. They do seem to be making use of their available capacity but can Leeds/Bradford hold this?I reckon that you will probably see a few more high rotation flights such as Belfast etc in the future. It would seem logical if you were basing more aircraft at the airport and recruiting more cabin crew.
My thought exactly SAAB on the rotation front. Belfast does seem to be a prime candidate – i would say 2x daily for the moment. Knock has been floating about, perhaps a 2 or 3x weekly to start with – along with Salzberg and Zaragota which come up weekly on forums!
For the winter they have a rather underutilised fleet at the moment. Oct 23rd will be an interesting day!

SYY is plenty long enough (well, longer than LBA and the like) – 2200m, slightly displaced threshold on 18.
what are we talking about here – Runway Length or LDA?
LBA – 2250
SYY – 2200
Tut! Forgot the map
what is the state of the terminal there? Does it still have all the check-in facilities and amenities from the scheduled carriers days?
I’m getting very interested in this now!
