Well said .
Well that fills the void .

Well here we are in day two of next week and the issue has been effectively removed from the front page . I believe there is a very good reason why it should have stayed in Historic , because it involves allegations of the sale of historic artifacts with very dodgey provenance .

I was not having a go at you moderators , I simply believe this issue needs to remain on front page till there is an explanation , otherwise some may think if they remain quiet long enough it will simply go away .

It is my understanding that the Fletcher topdresser was a clean sheet design , not based on anything else .
The Duxford York is on display in the superhanger in Dan Air colours I think . I looks finished to me and very good too . I also remember the coal and Berlin airlft story . I think it was early in the restoration process that they discovered a lot of coal dust under the floor .
Thank you for your help , my mother as a very young 16 year old with her 14 year old brother were the first to reach this aircraft the next morning , they climbed all over it and made off with their pockets full of Lifesavers and chewing gum .
I do not where exactly Foxholes Hill is , but I believe if you take the google maps link and move 4 clicks east so you have Northaw village to the west and Cuffley village to east the aircraft bellied in somewhere here . On the road between at that time there was a privately owned boarding school in a large house called Northaw House in this area , I believe it is now occupied by a London architectual company . I think it might have been close to the corner on the north side of the road . The aircraft I think came down about three fields from the house .
What an interesting thread , I hope it grows as there must be many more aero engined cars around .
There was a 166 which flew in and out of Luton in the1960’s, I do not recall its rego but I think it was listed as belonging to McAlpines what ever they were ?
