The report says 10 replicas , I am sure someone who really did know , told me 8 Lancasters . I wonder if the other two are Wellingtons ?

I believe the other Avro 504 was unfortunately parked in a tree not too long ago , but I am sure it will be on the mend .

Without wishing to highjack this thread , does anyone know anything about a retired Seattle aircraft engineer building or restoring an aircraft in a second storey of his home ? About 15 or 20 years ago I heard a story about this and how after his death the side of the house had to be taken off to remove the airframe ?

There certainly is one Hastings undercarriage assembly at MOTAT in Auckland , I seem to remember engines and wing assemblys from a Hastings behind hangers at Dairy Flat , North Auckland , probably 20 years ago .

Mondariz , the publicity around Lord of the Rings was provided by and large by Peter Jackson . I seem to remember one crew member was prosecuted over some unauthorised stuff .

More than probably any other film maker , Peter Jackson demands complete loyalty and everyone is covered by contracts that demand secrecy. Nobody will talk because to do so probably means they will never work for the man again . What has come out is that the Lancaster replicas have been delivered to New Zealand , that was made public in the first quarter of last year and someone who might really know suggested there might have been a Wellington or two aswell . When Peter Jackson wants us to know it will come out . His BE 2 is complete and flying and there are two more to follow and his FE 2 is also flying with another to come , he really is an aviation enthusiat and we all benefit from his passion .

I was standing looking at the monument to this aircraft loss the other day , just beside the bridge as you leave Earith .

Do you have any sunny days over there at this time of year? The only othermarks on the 80-200mm lens are 1:4.5-5.6 II

That was quick thank you , the camera is a Canon EOS 500 N , it has a built in flash will this be adequate or would it be better to get a flash as an accessory ?

I heard a rumour a couple of years ago about a flying replica Gotha bomber being started somewhere in the States .

I do not see why it takes some explaining , it is a choice between a relative’s wedding and old aerolanes , just say it a few times and it really is a no brainer .
