From memory there are four airframes there , all Hinds .
Came across this update on Victoria Air Maintenance’s website tonight.

Interesting to compare with the Avspecs example in New Zealand.
Guy
Is this the aircraft which recieved the first new fuselage from New Zealand ?
The various restorations which are reported on here are my favorite threads . The Stirling , Whitley , Hampden , Hornet , Halifax etc as well as those at Duxford . However this one here does not seem to me to be realistic , I perceive it in the same light as that group who keep finding stuff that allegedly belonged to a famous trans Pacific flyer .
Having been to see Glyn’s workshop and Avspecs while the Mosquitos have been worked on I was impressed with both . There is a huge amount of work involved in recreating the fuselage , and even having a completed fuselage there is still an incredible amount of work fitting it out . Despite two great teams and the years spent , as already mentioned they are still looking for those final few parts . A restoration to static , museum standard must be hard enough but to airworthy standard is something else again .
I would like to thank all those who provide this thread with news and pictures so that others like myself can keep up with what goes on at Duxford , from far away , again many thanks .
That is identical , well cleaner than mine though possibly more coroded than mine .
Every time I try the Whitley website link it tells me it is unavailable – or is it me?
You are not alone
Watched the news about this on TV , for something apparently so dangerous there were a considerable number of people standing around close to it . Has it possible become almost inert with age ?
Yes I have had this too .
Yes I have had this too .
For the cross braced units , how about Oxfords ?
The aircraft is suspended above the area where people wait to greet arrivals , this area is open to the public . The engine is in a display cabinet in a corridor , above the departure lounge , which leads to the viewing lounge . On my last visit to the airport I was looking up at the aircraft and an old guy who assists passengers told me his father had been employed , at the time of her flight , as the grass mower at the airport . On the day she flew in , this guy who was then just a small boy , had ridden out to the airport , riding on his fathers handle bars . I asked him what it had been like that day , he told me he had not enjoyed it at all as it was on unmade roads in those days and he ended up with a very sore backside !
Very interesting pictures thanks for posting .
There is a DH.4 airworthy in the States with a Liberty engine.
Is this additional to the one bought by Peter Jackson and on display at Omaka on the South Island of New Zealand ?
Without any knowledge , that was exactly my feeling too .
