Stealth LCA is not ready. we need 126 now. and LCA is to replace Mig 21’s and even then the production rate will be low. my other post was just to end the argument about which to buy, lol. both sound good and will augment the airforce real good. we operate both kinds and are happy with both. one for A-2-G one for A-2-A.
yes USS we can buy far more 29’s for the same mony that will buy M2K, but will that fullfill the need of IAF? Only the IAF can answer that
We need 126!!!! why not go for 63-63 of both 🙂 that will close all debates. :):)  😀 😀 :dev2: :dev2:
MI-8/17
Seaking
Lynx
Huey
MI 26
MI-35
Apache
HAL Dhruv 🙂
Are we getting more?????????????
How about a super super flanker with the RCS of an F-22 & supercruise, I would keep the original TVC and AL engines though just improve on them. MKI version of avionics FBW of a eurofighter.
Just to get it going
lovely shots 😉 !!!!!
After phasing out the Phoenix from service we got to learn that the performance of AIM-54s was rather disappointing, especially against fighter-sized targets.
Thanks for that, see i never knew that. i read a lot about the combo during my school times and it was in service then. i am lucky to find this forum 🙂
by the way can the raptor do maneauvours like the cobra and the somersault that the flankers do? never seen any videos of raptor doing that?
beautifull!!!!!!!!!!!
flex F14 is a proven aircraft in combat as well as maritime and also AIM 54a was very succesfull in tests. the combination did seem to be deadly at the time. A hype i am not so sure of, please correct me if so.
Stupid Stupid stupid site… why do they they even bother to update it????? will never ever go back to indiadefence
nice pics. is that a deer on the runway? very few cases of deer hits i must say. 🙂
Is that a bad thing? Personally I was kinda hoping we, as a planet, were getting close to that point.
No, and i too wish we maintain that.
But as a fighter freak it takes the punch out of the concept of having and airforce :diablo:
thats was just a joke guys, 🙂
I personally think a lot of fighters have a lot of metal, however there are some which need to be put on the burner to know thier worth
I agree with you DJ about a good weapon is the one that does not have to be used. That is the whole issue of having nuclear weapons isnt it?
technology spinoffs from the development of fighters too plays a big part for the manufacturer. Although there are projects which have just been put forward for the sake of a propaganda and to secure vote banks.
politicians all over the world use them to either shoot down the oposition or to secure their place as the ruling (governing) party of the nation.
at the same place quite a few good and valid projects have been shot down just to tackle the oposition in politics.
But returning to the thread i would still be intrested in knowing as to why ppl think of some fighters as not delivering on what was promised, and if possible the reason behind that happening.
A classic case of a good design going bad is the HAL Marut interceptor in India. Which lost out due to beuracracy and politics. It was a superb design for being a third gen interceptor.
looking at that it seems that every major fighter seems to be a propoganda plane.
Has the human civilization actually reached the point where we will never actually reach the point of combat and are just creating paper tigers?
So that is agreed that the BVR capabilities of M2k-5 are superior to Mig 29. but thats only true in case of Fulcrum-B’s. Although in WVR the Mig 29 with its HMS is a far better option, due to its agility.
Which can also be stated that when we compare vanila version of the airframes and armament the Mig 29 is a superior aircraft.
Which in turn brings the question in my mind that when will we upgrade our Mig 29’s. Russia offered us (read forced) Mig 29k’s for INS Vikramaditya. Why did the GoI not include an upgrade of the existing fleet of Mig 29? We all know for how long the deal was stuck for Mig 29k’s. If we did not have an option we should have looked at the silver lining and got the best deal on the upgrades.
On the other note why dont we plan an indigenious upgrade of the Mig 29’s. We could surely use a lot of spin off technology of the LCA programme. Also the slow production rate of india made Su 30MKI can be used for a chance to upgrade the other a/c in the fleet.
This should comprehesively cut down the cost of SCM for individual upgrades. i would like to know the views of others on this.
