He didn’t “mixed up” anything. This is a deliberate attempt by an Indian propagandist who believe that it is necessary, as PAF-pilot said, “to take down the Chinese reputation because it adversely affected India’s in comparison.”
This thread has nothing to do with Brute or his kind. I’ve never ever seen a silimilar write up on the IAF in a Chinese forum. He interjects into this thread a propaganda piece from BR, a piece that he attempted to lie about not knowing who the author was, a piece that he actually wrote himself to score some stupid nationalistic points for India.
How the hell would continually maligning China make India “great?”
There is nothing, absolutely nothing in this thread about Brute’s people and country. Certainly nothing that requires insertion of a biased piece of work from BR.
So it is better to ignore this idiot and his ilk.
Responding only encourages them to do more of this crap.

Zheng, there are lots of J-8II pictures in my Commie Air Force thread:
http://forum.airforces.info/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18315
and the Shenyang J-8II thread:
http://forum.airforces.info/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19602
Please feel free to add your collection of J-8s or other Chinese commie aircraft to them 😀
This particular thread is actually on a Chinese forum news item concerning Shenyang AC and the J-8II. More of a discussion on SAC and the political and economic problems of the firm in a changing environment.
Commie trainer: JJ-7
Very nice! 😀
The FC-1 lead designer Yang Wei is very young and was a member of the J-10 team before being pulled over to new project.
There are multiple stories on Yang in the FC-1 pictures and discussion thread. Including one which describes Yang and his team’s involvement with a Chengdu two seater (obviously the J-10B) which the story said was to fly by in the end of the year. The story was in October, 2003. The J-10B flew unofficially before the New Year.

I wouldn’t even give the PS guys Ds, they’re pretty good 😀
The PS pictures are usually marked as fakes and are there for their own amusement. Only when people from outside the Chinese world grab their stuff and the attached notes get lost do they get passed as the real thing.
Actually, those two and other Chinese language forums are where we get all the pictures of the non-officially published material.
Most of those guys in the forums (and there is good amount of gals unlike here) never go to English forums. They could care less if anyone outside the Chinese world ever saw the J-10/052/Type 98/JH-7A pictures.
So I would never give them a poor grade. They never intended any of their picts, PSed or real, to be used in the English-languaged internet and we are the ones who grab stuff from them.
If it weren’t for them, we’d have nothing except for those of us with relatives who have access to Chinese magazines and TV. Everyone of the English world sites, Huitong’s, CDF, CMF, here at AFM ultimately depends on picts from those and other Chinese forums.
So we in the English language world who are interested should be appreciative 😀

Looking at the history of new aircraft deployment in the PLAAF if the J-10 goes to Yunnan that says something very negative to me. I know others will disagree saying that times could have changed. The PLAAF is a creature of habit and does things today the same way they did 40 years ago. The early J-8s went to Anshan first, as did the J-8IIs, and the J-11s.
Communist instititions are pretty much rigid and resistant to change 😀
But the reason I pointed out the UBKs at Chongqing is that these two-seaters are the trainers of a fairly large Su-27SK/J-11 fleet with units spread across the rim of the Chinese coast. And there they are far removed from the east coast or frontline.
The training and formation of the initial units J-10 fleet could simply be centralized in a place of the PLAAF choosing for a variety of reasons including distance to manufacturer and secrecy on an unveiled product.
I think the 10 J-10s delivered actually went to the Flight Test and Training Center at Cangzhou. I have also seen indications the 9th Division has been doing transition (at least thoery) training into the J-10. That is actually where I think the J-10 will go because I don’t believe there are problems with the program. I think the information Huitong has was speculation based on the theory above: “out with the old, in with the new” which really doesn’t apply in this case. You would want a top of the line fighter to be defending something worth defending. In the case of the 9th Division, that would be Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Being in range of Taiwan would simply be an added benefit.
Yes, there is still quite a lot of confusion and speculation on where first 10 were sent and we’ve no idea where the possible 40 that followed are being kept. After all, nothing is official. But if it is placed with the 9th then the J-10 would have to be made official being so near to the media centers of Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
Nanjing got the first 10 according to Janes. But Huitong reported that the first 10 went to CFTE which is in Yanliang in Shaanxi province, near Beijing.
Rick, your quess could be one theory if the 44th is first operational squadron instead of the one at Nanjing (29th?). The other is the plane is yet to be unveiled and an operational squadron training with the type over the east coast would be too much in view.
Yunnan is pretty much secluded along the Laos border. Also Huitong also reported that most of the Su-27UBKs are stationed in Chongqing which is in Szechuan and and just as far away from the east coast.

You’re welcome 😀
Read my classic FC-1 thread and see how we’ve sheperded a topic through repeated attacks (before this thread, four previous FC-1 discussions were locked due to massed flame attacks from Indians)
http://forum.airforces.info/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15234
By ignoring the flamers and persevering with tons of articles and pictures, we nurtured a thread that has literally hundreds of pictures and articles and was view over 19,000 times 😀
So if you enjoy this forum, ignore the flamers and not let them distract you. They sort of slink away back to the bigotted Indian forum when no one replies but when you do reply, they redouble their efforts, bring their cohorts along and flame more.

Yesterday, I had a look in one of the Indian military fourms and I was shocked by the amount of garbage that was said. Most, if not all posts were biased, patriotic and sometimes just down right racsist towards China.
Guan, you will learn over time that many of the same people at those Indian forums bring their prejudices here.
The best solution is to ignore them as much as possible.
Yeah, the comb over doesn’t really work.

————————————————————————————In a related development, an authorative source within China’s military industry has also confirmed to JDW that the air force’s first 10 AL-31FN-engined J-10A fighters were deployed with the country’s Nanjing Military Command during August 2002 for training activities. The PLAAF’s first two-seat J-10B fighters will enter manufacture next year, featuring enhanced air-to-ground and maritime attack capabilities.
Thanks Google!
Great article, not only did it point out the initial J-10A deployment more than a year ago in August 2002 but also talked about the J-10B which the Chinese forums have reported taking off a few weeks ago 😀
Also, the work on a TVC WS-10A derivative.
Lots of good info that most of us had already known ahead of time in the Chinese forums but nicely confirmed by Janes for the non-Chinese world 😀
And finally in this scheme
