…. since by all means, J-20 is merely a start, actually this year along, there will be lots more goodies shows up in China, I …
Any hint what we can expect this year:
– Y-20 roll-out
– J-15 … finally some close-ups
– J-16 “Silent Flanker” unveiling ?
– another secret project from SAC … rumoured to be a JH-type
– some UAV’s
– …. ???
Tell us more …. ๐
Deino
Yes.
Could You please tell us more ?? … as far as I read these differences will at best be “minor” … as such, it will have the same airframe, same canopy, same engines …
I hope there are at least more changes than a “52” instead of the “51”.
Deino
Agree.. If J-20 can come together without R&D and just cut and paste. Then Chinese must have attain God’s level..
Then the Indian needs to kudos to the God! :diablo:
AMEN !!
Sorry, but thatโs plain stupid …. and as such that’s simple and clear !
1. this statement is simply politically motivated, heโs stupid or he doesnโt understand anything in that matter … to think that such a project can be successfully completed simply by “stealing” technology or ideas is beyond anything !
2. he’s jealous or envious, since this clearly shows how much the Indian projects are behind !
3. heโs angry since he realizes that if the Indian system of R&D โ especially these long delaying political process behind (if ethically more correct) – wonโt be changed dramatically, the technically most advanced indigenous project will be the Tejas Mk. 2 at about the same time, when the J-20 is rolling off the production line.
Really … a very funny – but sad at the same time – joke for this morning.

January 4 2011 – not recent enough for you?
I thought the reports to be relevant didnt catch them being posted before.
Thanks for the links though.
Yes .. “not recent enough for” me ! :diablo:
Honestly, the best pictures only came out right before and during the first flight on 11. January and as such – at least IMO – these are were much dated.
Yet another feature I might suggest to You is this one …

Cheers, Deino ๐
Is there any specific reason to post these dated reports ??? ๐ฎ (Flightglobal from 4. January and RIAnovosti from 29. December 2010) !!!
I don’t know what they should be helpfull  … otherwise I suggest You to read these two articles (as a homework :D):
http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/the-dewline/2011/02/j-20-chinas-ultimate-aircraft.html (by Steve Trimble)
or http://www.aex.ru/docs/3/2011/1/12/1258/ (by Vladimir Karnozov)

What if the HAL had chosen the Eurofighter consortium to develop the Tejas Mk. 2 …. :diablo:
Found at the Whif-modeling forum
Best try could be here …

… and I’m still missing my copy ! ๐ก

For those who like the J-20 as a wallpaper !!

Finally the Z-19 revealed !!!!
… or simply a RC-model … or a FAKE ? What do You think ?
๐

Has anyone already seen PiBu’s article on the T-50 ??? … I like to read his reports always very much.
Deino
Is this this “new” Su-30MK2 ??
http://www.knaapo.ru/eng/gallery/aircrafts/combat/su-30m2/index.wbp
So we should nmame it “Phoenix” ! :diablo:
Besides that … since when is the J-20 related to a refused MiKoyan PAK-FA contender ??? I’ve read that “rumour” too but can anyone give a source or could we take it again as a simple rumour ?
Deino
Does anyone have any good information on that statement ???
Deino
How could they build such a big fighter from the scattered ashes of a smaller bird? ๐
So wwe should nmame it “Phoenix” ! :diablo:

Sorry … I still don’t get it ! (even if I agree with You and at least think I never said anything different!)
My idea simply was that before the J-20 really no-one but a few maniacs or China-enthusiasts had a clue about what projects are maybe “on” … and only they were diuscussing and maybe even publishing about them. Otherwise no-one was really interested.
Now, You can see in nearly each and every newspaper, magazine or what else. The result is everyone thinks he could do an analysis on that bird, its technology, performance and most of all the political “why” and “when” simply after a bit of “googeling”.
That alone won’t be bad, but following my idea I simply ask if this wasn’t also an intention of the unveiling (besides showing faith in the own aviation industry and so on).
Just take a look here and in other forums. How many of the posts posted at least two days after the first flight are on the J-20 ??? Most of them are around “I see that” … “no You don’t” … “it’s a copy” … “It’s a Russian design … “no it is not” .. “it is based on stole US material” … “Yes it is” … “no it is not” and so on and in the end most debates are simply useless … or even senseless, since no-one here knows anything about the real design, the requirements behind, the manufacturing level, the inner structure and so on … it’s simply all some guesswork.
PS: Quite funny it’s exactly the same with the T-50 … “it has an S-duct” …”no it hasn’t” … “it has a blocker” … “no it hasn’t” …. and so on.
And behind that fog the guys at CAC are again at work … or making a good joke about most of the comments, reports and analysis here.
