O.k … once again a lot of misunderstandings … because of repeated use of designations. I hope I’m correct with this:

S-37 (later Su-47) Berkut: Aviadvigatel D-30F6 (originally also planned with Lyulka AL-41F ??)
Mikoyan MFI 1.44: Lyulka AL-41F (completely new engine, at least new core)
Sukhoi PAK-FA T-50: Lyulka AL-41F1A … more closely related to the AL-31F (uses its core)

Or can anyone help with corrections ?!!??

MiG-1.44 never had Al-41. It was powered by D-30F.

    No … the S-37 had D-30F !!!

    Comrades 50556 and 50655… Hmm…

    That’s 5xx5x… Hmm…
34th Division, PLAAF… A transport division based at Nan Yuan, Bei Jing, that flies Y-7, Y-8, and “special aircraft”?

Maybe that chart is out-of-date, but 34th Division still doesn’t sound like a fighter or attacker division?

    Yes … it’s completely out-of-date !

The 5xx5x-no. are 44. Division from the new numbering system (new since 2005). 34. Div is now 4xx5x !

    28 September 2008:
    Chitose AB, Hokkaidou.
    UH-60J of SAR squadrons, JASDF.
Dark blue camouflage gradually replaces yellow and white two tone colour, since two years ago.
Now, 15 of 40 UH-60J of 10 SAR squadrons are dark blue camouflage.
Article claims although dark blue camouflage is hard to see by rescuee, aircraft has FLIR and radar for better detection ability.

    ….

Hmmm … Maybe the link is dead or gone !! Does anyone have a picture of that “UH-60J in the dark blue camouflage” !!

    Thanks in advance, Deino

I called the US office today, somebody different answers every time but they said “25 in weeks not months” shipped direct from Singapore, 26 almost complete and “on time”, editorial complete etc.

I’m a sceptic but will wait and see….

Hmmm … interesting ! We sent our article with everything else (see post 95) during the last week of July and I received the pdf.file for last corrections slightly later. Everything else – IMO – should have been ready early September.

    Hopefully sooooooooon …

Vol 25 “on the presses” Vol 26 “will be on time”

I’m on the edge of my seat……

    Me too …. 😮

… but where did You get this news from ???

If its currently “on the presses” … then I think mid November could be possible (I have to admit I hoped for late October) … and they still plan issue 26 for late December ???

Sukhoi clearly knows what supersonic agility and they are going to use TVC for BVR avoidance. Haven u seen the Su-35 video where it avioids EF missiles.
EF currently is not designed for 600 to 700 kg AAM missile but Su-35 is along with long range strike weopons. It is in different league.

Oh come on … its maybe at best a promotional video ! So far two prototypes are lflying … no Su-35 ever flew against a TYphoon not such a manouver !!

    IT’s actually very strange:

Everytime anyone from Sukhoi says anything like that its the holy truth … and if something pro EF is written or said by anyone of its partner countries … is a lie, a false report … biased and with some political intention but surely not true !!

    http://www.knaapo.ru/eng/products/military/su-35.wbp
Su-35 is designed to gain air superiority through manned and unmanned aircraft destroying by guided missiles in medium and long range engagements and dogfights; to destroy ground and surface targets by all type of weapon, as well as destroy the enemy ground infra-structure facilities located very far from the base airfields heavily protected by the active AAD system
The Su-35 merits are the following:

    Supreme flight performance, superagility mode

Sounds much to much like a desperate marketing outcry !

I would suggest to close this tread … it’s useless to discuss any further and I hope a moderator agrees with that !

That would of course require some follow-on investments like an aircraft carrier, which would look great in the midst of the Gobi desert.

However, no chance versus the MiG-25.

Really, nothing can beat the MiG-25 ….. ??? :diablo:

Just noticed how different the wing tips of the different H-6 versions are ?!?!

Quite intersting is the H-6G with the old-style, shorter tips …

Added to this Xinhui posted at the CDF several intersting H-6A (??) pictures . One of them see below !

Regarding the gun under the nose they are all “older” models but if You look closely they even show here different wing-tip-designs !
They have all the older, original “short” design but some of them – aircraft no. 20615 – seem to have the Russian wing-tip-to-wing-tip refuelling mechanism installed ! … the same as shown on the H-6G !!

So … is this really the original Russian IFR-mechanism ??? and does this mean that the G-models were updated older ones ??

    ….

Aside the fanboys you’ll may encounter there is reasonable argueing.
What I find astonishingly common between many (not all) “Flanker-fanboys” is the obvious lack of serious knowledge on aircraft performance or any other relevant science for this issue.

    AMEN !!!

That’s exactly my point: When I was young or new here I started with reading … and learning ! And I learned especially to know who knows his business and who is just a fan-boy.
Nothing wrong if one makes mistakes, posts wrong statements – maybe from wrong “sources” – and asks silly questions … I think I still do this ! :p
But I try to read before I post what I’ve written and try to check the source.
What makes me really angry is this childish behavior of some guys (maybe also girls) here who take every post, link or what-ever they found somewhere out there for granted. A typic post and proof (!) is this one:

Two Russian Tupolev-162 strategic bombers — each capable of carrying 12 cruise missiles armed with single 200-megaton nuclear warheads — carried out exercises in Venezuela last month.

    from: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=84033&page=4

Especially these “my Flanker is better than Your XYZ” are too stupid … just like the Penis-contest I discovered two weeks ago in my class when three guys were measuring who has the longest ! 😮
