Looking at the comments at the end it sounds like most are on the same wavelength.

I remember a case where some city folk moved into a rather nice house opposite the church. Every night the church clock chimes the hour and has done since it was installed. It can be heard for miles and is rather reassuring part of life. Needless to say they complained about personal liberties and right for peace.

You can guess the response from just about everyone and it ended in ‘off’

I like the effect it has on the leaves which results in a painted look.

How old are you Lincoln? My grandfather after returning from the Great War had a horse and cart milk float and did the round twice a day.

The one thing that is taken for granted now is how forums, twitter, skype and mobile phones allow us to talk to anyone anywhere in the world when it suits us, still pretty amazing as it is only about 15-20 years go there wasn’t an internet for the majority.

Love to see the Lizzy and Storch up together. Don’t know which day we’ll go but will be there.

Guardian reader for my sins, I don’t agree with everything it says but it doesn’t brown nose the way certain papers do and it actually has a good coverage of news, both national and international without the gossip and rubbish that really doesn’t interest me.

Don’t even know why I take a camera, my shots are awful compared to the this sort of thing. Was a little warm but a great day and thanks for sharing these.

I’m now having a look at these schemes so will throw my thoughts into the mix, to me ’40’ looks like the cheat line and serial were a yellow/gold and the band/tail back were white.

However the question I have for G-AISU 40 relates to the underwing, the photos show that the number is in black on a light coloured band on the starboard side, was this repeated on either the under or upper sides of the port tip. Also would the white have wrapped round or just been on the underside of the starboard tip and upper surface of the port tip?

    Does that even make sense?

Any idea if the P-40 will be rolled out on Sunday? Looking forward to the Jubilee show as junior is 5 months old and will be his first time hearing a Merlin.
