Would it have been a Short Skeet.

Not bothered about getting serial numbers but in the future military aircraft will show up at model aircraft shows and will be a couple of blokes in military fatigues and a trailer. That is enough to make me cry.

I use the term “in charge” in it’s loosest form. As you say kids need boundaries.
It seems many parents are unable, or unwilling to set boundaries for their children, and
seem surprised when others find this objectionable.

Must confess that I’ve encountered parents (who are otherwise really nice people and good friends) who opt for the short term path of least resistance and in the long run have real issues with their kids, this can however be for a number of reasons but probably best continued on one of those parenting forums instead.

As for the spawn or result of a drunken evening, wish I had time to get drunk these days, despite certain children being the result of such carelessness many are planned and fully intentional. Spawn is still accurate though! 🙂

When I was young we did as we were told, as parents were in charge.
Now I’ve grown up, it’s the children who are in charge, with everyone dancing
    to their tune.

Are the children really in charge? Certainly they place demands on the parents and to bring up an intelligent, polite, well rounded child requires investing a lot of time and effort, no different to a well trained dog or horse.

Whilst putting children at the centre of the family group is important, letting them actually be in charge is just asking for trouble, kids need boundaries as they grow.

These airframes are unlikely to be restored to full flying or museum standard, they are ultimately most likely to be scrapped, therefore using them as a canvas is better than letting them just rot away, gives them a second life and considering how many of each type are at the yard, one or two more with a different coat of paint won’t make much difference.

Plus I rather like the artwork on them.

Kids will be kids, can’t always blame the parents, whilst one child might be a little angel, exactly the same parenting approach can also produce the spawn of satan.

How much of a tantrum was involved, it doesn’t clarify that, was it just tears or full on rage? I do think that the decision to kick them off was a little harsh.

Do those who object to kids propose that children don’t travel or that there are separate travel arrangements for those who wish to avoid contact with them? I’m sure that everyone here was at some point young and wasn’t a perfect angel.

    ..bit more clearly

Lovely detail it’s perfect, and for my next question… what colour is it most likely to be, white?

The quote is almost right, men are allowed to think they have emerged on the top of the pile, women can’t put up with our complaining if we come off second best!

As has been said elsewhere she deserves far more respect for stepping down instead of carrying on as most males would do, she has more balls than most male pilots. Maybe this is something others could learn from or is ‘lmf’ still like the sword of Damocles? Not I hasten to add that lmf is the case in this situation but by someone not paying close attention to the situation it could be seen as that.

I’m currently reading “Chickenhawk” by Robert Mason,

Some photos that weren’t included in the book (well my copy) but add faces to the names.

Thanks, I didn’t think that it could be yellow as it is far too light and it can’t be the underside scheme as there is an area where this meets the light so painted aluminium would make sense with the actual spinner being polished metal.

don’t worry I know where he lives !!:diablo:

But the problem there involves leaving god’s own county and heading into the wilds, according to my map (which a bloke in a pub in Ashill gave me) beyond Devonshire be dragons and wild beasties.

You mean you didn’t charge him the regulatory cider tax? With any luck they caught him at Brizzle though border control is rather poor these days.

Better luck getting him on the way back.

Let’s face it, the film is pretty good apart from the SFX (which were up for an award in their day), so why not just remake the SFX and cut it into the original film? Lucas did that with the Star Wars re-releases!

And look what Lucas has done with cgi, every single scene has been butchered, whilst cgi is very very good these days there is nothing like having the real physical models or aircraft to use.

But if the original was cleaned up and ‘enhanced’ there would still be howls of rage.

Has anyone really confirmed that the Harriers have been unpacked in the States or have they been secretly shipped south to build up the militarisation of the Falklands we keep hearing about?

Nice to know the Phantoms are still there, probably a few Spitfires hidden in barns or buried if we look hard enough, part of the same batch that ended up in Australia!
