    Words are superfluous……

Such a shame that it would all be done by computers now, oh to have been there during that scene. Thanks for all the information folks.

Not surprised about the noses being repainted, as they go past you can see on several where the previous nose art has been painted over.

Might watch it again while it is still on the Beeb

Stunning and I do like dirty old birds, glad to see she’ll keep the make up on, always adds a touch of glamour.

Shame that ZG506 wasn’t allowed to go to a good home though.

Really should have more than two of thee fine birds on display, such a shame that the government just wanted to make a fast buck to pay for their jollies.

Almost as depressing is that the GR9 is now firmly consigned to ‘historic aviation’

this is a film (Dambusters) that dads of today will take their sons to watch and catch another generation of youngsters to (and maybe) want to be involved in the future of aviation.

    This film is important.

Skipping back a bit to this point, part of the problem is that classics like this were a staple part of my growing up, always some film on Sunday afternoons when there were only 3 (or 4) channels to choose from. Far more options now but still intend to sit down with the kids when they are big enough and a pile of ‘educational’ films.

Wonder how many more posts before the usual topic crops up.

I’d still like to see a remake.

Can’t we just agree that the programme was a very good and fair one?

It was a program about aeroplanes on BBC1 on prime time tv, that is more than we get most of the time, the fact it was well made and fair is a real bonus.

AND it’s colour. Watching a couple taxing on the grass, they bounce around like models and don’t even look real! Great find and made my afternoon.

Not actually too bad for Coastal Command…

Now that is quite a list, but why go abroad for an Annie, Air Atlantique have one.

I could more than happily enjoy a good hour and a half (though could have been longer for everyone here) on Coastal if presented the same way, a water landing in the Cat would be enjoyable for Colin to try no doubt if they would let him.

Keep it British and cover Coastal Command first, now that war really has been overlooked by most.

Despite being a bit Lanc focussed and neglecting to mention the US involvement in Dresden (but that’s already been covered in threads) it was a very good program and decent length too.

Seen the East Midlands Air Ambulance sadly landing near by, never like seeing it flying as it normally means some bad news for a family somewhere.

Has there been any official announcement on the investigation into the incident or is it still ongoing? I don’t recall hearing anything.

I notice the chain hanging, looks like there might still be a Euro in there unless it has been removed through precision engineering.

Thanks, that was quick! Can I assume it is undergoing restoration but isn’t accessible to the public at present?

Another big problem is that type cannot convey emotion in the same way as the spoken word, a message that is meant in a light hearted jokey way can be taken very seriously and cause offense when it is not intended to.

All too easy to forget that not everyone thinks the same way as I (or you) do and will do things or react differently to something.
