Sorry to hear you were taken ill again, but if you’re on here it can’t have been all bad.

Regarding the NHS, sadly we now live in a claim culture and one of targets so everything has to be recorded and quantified just in case something did go wrong.

My wife works in the NHS and some of the tales I hear of wastage and treatment of staff are shocking.

If I dared risk actually being prosecuted and fined I would sling the thing back at them. A waste of time and a staggering waste of a great deal of money we do not have.:(

But in 100 years time, what would those shows that indulge a ‘celeb’ and find out what their granny did be able to look at if the census records aren’t released?
    😀

Interestingly, where there is only a short transit between airshows the main wing-walking team girls ride in the harness.

For longer transits they unstrap and climb down into the cockpit – but this out of sight of the audience.

    Moggy

Yes but it would still be nice to see them hanging upside down from the underside of the a/c whilst doing their nails or playing a violin.

Are the other Arab and North African nations in a situation where they can realistically provide air cover, the whole region is politically very unstable and whilst there is humanitarian aid being provided, a full scale military operation from a country such as Egypt which is currently in a state of flux would be difficult to co-ordinate when the priorities and resources lie elsewhere at the moment. I would have thought it likely that only if there was a direct threat to a nation would they get involved.

Libyan no fly zone and the RAF

Despite Cameron trying to play global politics and implement a no fly zone it was rather amusing seeing an interview with a tory MP and watch them squirm when it was pointed out that now we have scrapped the Harriers and Ark we can’t really do much more than shout.

I would imagine that with the Harrier fleet it would be quite a simple job to get them back up to flying after a couple of months off, would the same be possible with the Ark

Or does the RAF have the capability to operate out of other friendly airfields in the region? Realistically could Typhoons or Tornadoes operate out of Malta and have with tanker support have enough time in Libyan airspace to be a deterrent?

In some cases, again particularly US manufacturers, stencils were little used and the majority of the markings were applied by rubber stamps (P-51) or water-slide decals (P-40 for example). We reproduce these too.

And probably sadly 99% of people won’t even know they are there.

What fonts do you use for the different bits of stenciling?

Inkworm, don’t give up old chap. I know peer pressure can be immense, but it’s the core values that people are taught as kids that really stick with them.

Easier said than done, there is nothing more annoying than when I’m trying to teach a bunch of undergraduates who are supposed to be ‘adults’ and are paying for their education and they’d rather mess about on facebook or texting people when I’m trying to deliver a lecture, yes I shouldn’t care, it’s their loss not mine but it is bloody rude. I’m also pretty confident that if their parents ever found out they would not be impressed.

Despite that little one knows how important planes and rugby are so we must be doing something right!:D

Can you always blame the parents, we are trying our best and at the moment doing reasonably well, however little inky is yet to turn three, I’m sure as she gets older she will listen to us less and to her peers more, one of those sad facts.
